Umm, apparently her child also recognizes that the perpetrator of the violence is a bad guy. It's not like it's Wolverine choking her out while winking at the camera or something- it's the bad guy doing bad things. It's supposed to provoke a response against the behavior.

Also, who cares about Rose McGowan?

It's the same 'bad guys are doing something evil in a story' uproar that happens every now and again. I think this one's getting less attention than Voldemort philosophizing about how "there is no good or evil, only power", etc, etc, which I'd think meant that people have more critical thinking skills but probably just means there's fewer THINK OF THE CHILDREN types complaining about X-Men than there were for Harry Potter.
