So, I play Tau, hence the title. My army consists of:
Fireblade
2 Fire Warrior Teams
Devilfish
Stealth Suits
Crisis Suits
Riptide
Broadside
The drones to accompany all of this
My question to you is: what should I get next? I am open to all suggestions.

Yeah a Commander would be nice to have. Also maybe get a Hammerhead/Skyray tank and don't glue the turret on so you can play either.
You'll want some significant sources of markerlights so I would also try to get additional units with them (markerdrones, pathfinders, teras, Skyray, etc).

If you don't have sufficient marker drones (a Tau player will eventually want about 8-10 to cover any sort of ML drone builds they want) or Pathfinders would do well.
Actually I really like the Pathfinder models. I wish they were cheaper to take though since in a competitive environment they can't compete with drones. I actually think of all the Tau infantry models they are the most interesting looking ones.
Tau Commander, Skyray, Broadsides, Stormsurges, and Ghostkeels are all solid picks.

You need 16 drones for the drone net.

True, but I wouldn't waste it on 16 ML drones that's too much. I would bring some gun drones to wall off areas cheaply or move to take over objectives that are safe. Depending on list I would bring 8 in the formation and then maybe 2 with a commander if he is running the mark'o build.

Figure out a play style that you enjoy and think would make for a fun to play army. If you like fielding a bunch of mobile weapon platforms then look to Crisis Suits and/or Riptides. If you like blobs of infantry then get a lot more Fire Warriors and maybe some Pathfinders and Broadsides. If you want to play a more mechanized list then look at more devilfish along with enough fire warriors/pathfinders to fill said transports (Counterstrike Cadre is a lot of fun). Could also look at adding more stealth based units like the Ghostkeel for things like the Optimized Stealth formation.
Honestly Tau has a lot of potentially interesting ways to play so look at formations or unit comps that allow for some interesting playstyles and build towards that. I personally would recommend you get another Crisis Suit box or better yet buy the start collecting box to get 3x Crisis, 10x Fire Warriors, and an Ethereal and make one of them into an Iridium armored Commander. The new Crisis Suit kit is amazing and you can add armor plates along with the included iridum armor setup to make a durable and awesome looking Commander suit.

It depends on your meta.
I don't recommend a stormsurge unless your opponents are those guys.
I also don't recommend more riptides unless your opponents are those guys.
You have two squads of fire warriors. I only counted one transport. Need more transports!

This seems to me to be the best thing to do. The only thing I wouldn't use in the box is the Ethereal, because I'm beginning to edge towards the Farsight Enclaves, although I have heard mixed reviews about them.

Ethereals are quite amazing considering how cheap they are and the amount of utility they give. They make Fire Warriors crazy deadly in rapid fire range and they act as the glue that keeps your models on the table and not falling back. Without an Ethereal leadership is a major issue for them as your giant suits or blobs of infantry can end up running away or getting mauled by things like psychic shriek. Leadership 10 aura makes your army basically resilient like Necrons to morale issues so its highly unlikely that your Broadsides, Crisis Suits, Fire Warriors, etc will run away from shooting and it helps protect your big stuff from leadership bombs.
The victory point loss they give up when killed can be huge or it can be a drop in the bucket depending on the format (Maelstrom is a good format for Ethereals while Eternal War can be won or lose by an Ethereal death). Either throw him/her into a unit of Broadsides (and take missile drones as your now leadership 10 and stubborn), tag along with your Fire Warriors, or hide him out of LoS (it all depends on what kind of ranged vs melee threats you expect to see from your opponent).
Farsight Enclave not being down with the Ethereal's Orwellian style dystopia won't field them but if your running a non FSE army list then you might want to consider using it. Besides the collecting box is £50 while the crisis suits are £45 by themselves. For an extra £5 you get 10 Fire Warriors and an Ethereal which is not a bad value proposition at all.

I might get an Ethereal for the time being; I don't have the Farsight codex yet, so as of now I can use all the Tau models available in the codex. Judging by what you have said, the box might be a worthwhile investment - more Fire Warriors and more Crisis Suits, plus the Ethereal. Ld 10 would definitely help. An Ethereal and many Fire Warriors could work, as I play against Daemons and Tyranids a lot. My local gaming store seems to have a tendency for horde armies.

With the change to passengers being unable to fire normally after their transport jinks, more devilfish probably isn't a great plan, especially if you're running fire warriors instead of breachers since they don't get that much use out of transports.
A commander would be my first purchase, allowing for a retaliation cadre and/or a mark'o.
Next would be a ghostkeel, allowing the OSC since it looks like you're taking stealths anyway.
After that, your choice between broadsides, crisis or a skyray, dependant on what sort of list you're playing, though if you want to make your opponents roll their eyes every time you put your army down, it's hard to go wrong with more riptides now that riptide wing is a thing.
