Hi there so I'm reasonably new to 40k started off by splitting dark vengeance set with a mate and taking dark angels, made one addition to the army that being a dreadnaught. I've found my passion really lies with necrons so this is what I have managed to obtain and
am looking to push my points up to around 1850 or even higher to give me some variation in games etc, am currently looking at getting a ghost ark. Mostly play with mate but wouldn't mind having something strong to compete with . Any feedback would be much appreciated

Obvious answer is some tomb blades since you've got everything else for a decurion/reclamation legion and a canoptek harvest.

From there, you've already got the sword/board lychstar base, so Orikan and the requisite lord and overlord for a royal court is definately an option if you want to be hated. Zandrek and Obyron can be exchanged for the generic lord and overlord and certainly make for a potent deathstar.

Some destroyers and a D-Lord for the option of a destroyer cult would be the next step after that I'd suggest if you want to expand further, though an equally valid though less often seen option is praetorians and a triarch stalker for a judicator battalion.

Or you could just keep getting more tomb blades and wraiths.

A unit of deathmarks wouldn't go astray either.

Basically, once you've got the basics for a decurion, there's very little that's a bad choice in the necron dex.

Cool thanks for that yea I had a 1500 point game tonight vs eldar and got absolutely demolished, it was made very apparent that I require some transport such as a ghost ark and could do with some anti-tank units aswel. I've been told that is where the destroyers would be good? I have to admit playing eldar was very frustrating having them move and shoot everyone then hide and then swoop all over the table in the closing turns to take them objectives. Doesn't help that my night scythe came in turn 4 with the lychguard :(

Would a monolith do me any favours?

Lychguard get teleport from veil, they don't belong in reserves since I doubt there's an army out there who can alpha them off the table when Orikan is attached.

A monolith would do your opponent favours. They can have their moments in casual games, but it heavily relies on you bringing an AV13 wall of other targets that's much harder to do now that AB's aren't 90 ppm anymore. Or that your opponent brought insufficient anti tank to deal with an AV14 box with a battlecannon, which is not a terribly common occurance.

Get some Flayed Ones if you want to get into close combat. They're really good and cost as much as regular Necron Warriors.

Hey thanks for reply, any chance you could liberate on some things as I am quite new to it all.. so if I bring lychguard via veil it means id have to have the cryptek and the overlord with them yes? Because they can only take 1 artifact each I've heard. I'm trying to weigh up if its worth sending the overlord and cryptek with a 6 man squad? and with deepstrike they won't be able to disembark and move 6 inches like they can out of the night scythe so wouldn't they be isolated ? and if it mishaps then I am really done the pooper. Would love to hear what else to add and how to play what I have because tbh I don't really know how to position what I have and use them the most optimal way.

So I've now purchases 2 ghost arks and a 13 immortals that can be death marks aswell and 6 tomb blades so just wondering what to take out and put in for a 1500-1850 game ?

Bring tomb blades to get a Decurion, possibly a monolith if you have the points or do what I did and get flayed ones. Not too sure if the lychguard are worth it (I assume you use them as bodyguards) unless you're coming up against deep striking melee units a lot as you don't have much else in terms of melee units so be careful of them getting isolated. And if you bring the Decurion the Cryptek becomes a lot less useful so maybe another detachment like a Destroyer Cult?

Ultra-Ultramarines are a great idea.
