Last week I remembered I owned an old Hirst Arts kit to make Amon Hen.

I found it, and, armed with no instructions, proceeded to build the kit.

As the kit didn't come with the eagle statues, I made some out of foam board.

The hill is cut blue styrofoam and plasticard, the statue head is a Scibor resin piece.

Very neat bit of terrain - good job on the eagle statues, they make it instantly recognizable as Amon Hen. What did you use for the little purple flowers in the second picture?

The purple flowers are I believe from Warlord's new line of scenics - or it might be an Army Painter tuft. I'll check tonight.

And yeah - I was inspired to make Amon Hen because my buddy/roommate and I have been playing random scenarios from the LOTR Journeybooks. He just finished painting up his Fellowship so we're going to do the two linked Breaking of the Fellowship scenarios from the FOTR journeybook at Amon Hen (that's his Aragorn chilling on top)

As great as this looks in the pics, it looks even better in person!

Thanks dude! Yeah, I love terrain stuff. As you can see from the flocking on the hill itself, it is the same as the Uruks - I like making my own mix. That's my generic Middle Earth mix combined from like 5 or 6 different sources, haha, and then I have probably fifty different sets of flower and grass tufts from various manufacturers.
