Been Around the Block

Hi, I'm Plessiez. I dropped out of everything fantasy and sci-fi related for years to focus on historical stuff but lately I've been having fun getting back into a whole bunch of games.

This is my first plog on here though I've been active on the ammobunker for a while posting conversions in their Inq28 forum.

I love the 40k background and aesthetic but am never going to actually play 40k. Instead I play games like Necromunda, Gorkamorka, Clash on the Fringe, 7TV, Deadzone and so on. The good thing about that is that I'm free to basically make what I like and not worry too much about the meta.

I'm going to intersperse this blog with things I'm currently working on and a few old things that I've finished but never posted online before. Starting off though, this is my current project. Space Nazis, or as I call them "National Socialists in Spppaaaaaaccceee"

These are Pig Iron troops. I'm also going to expand them out a bit with some converted GW figures with Pig Iron heads. Bases are not finished yet, obviously but the rest are done. They're not going to win any prizes but I'm happy with them as a tabletop paintjob.

We'll be needing an officer. Here's one with Victoria miniatures arms.

I'm also working on a scout car for them. This isn't going to be any kind of imperial guard unit substitute, just for fun.

I forgot to take a picture of the original before I started but here's one I found online.

Stage one - upscaling all the tiny human scale bits. No more accurate wheels we need heroic wheels!

Good Stuff! I'l be looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

I'd be interested in hearing your opinions and observations about "Clash on the Fringe" as well.

@eilif thanks man

@CthulusSpy yeah quite right. I've not actually played it but I like the concept art. Also this old dakka thread was a big inspiration to me - "Hunde des Kriegs" http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/279777.page

Thanks EDC

Here's some more work on the scout car. I wanted to be able to do swappable weapons on the scout car. I only have one vehicle but lots of weapons so I built a new turret of Plasticard a slotta base and a chimera hatch

The original turret pops out like so

And can be replaced with

Then with the original turret I added a lascannon and gunner. This was kind of a pain and maybe would have looked best without the gunner but I quite like the offcentre gun and it harks back to some early ww2 vehicles.

Nice really like the Bull Bars which sell it as 40k to me.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Just stumbled across this thread nice work, loving the helmet schemes interesting idea.

Also the officer looks great, amazing how a combination of parts can create a stunning miniature.

As for the scout car I have a similar idea of using several WW2 vehicles with a 40k twist, like the PC work on the front vision guard.

Can I ask where are the wheels from that you used ?
