Hey all, I am currently working on an Ork Trukk army (they're bad, I know...) and I was looking for thoughts on my conversion ideas or any other ideas people had.

I am currently considering converting the following (I need 5 trukks and a battlewagon)
1. A Taurox
2. Some sort of Big Rig
3. A Land Speeder Storm (Hot rod, bulked up to about trukk size)
4. A Wave Serpent
5. Maybe a Chaos Rhino?

Are there any Necron units that could be decently trukkified? I got into Warhammer with my best buddy, who went with Necrons so I would love to do a Necron conversion.

If anybody has any other ideas, I'd love to hear them. I'm primarily looking to convert models from other factions rather than scratch build. If anyone has any ideas for a battlewagon conversion base that would be appreciated.

While I'm all up for conversions, those models make more sense as conversions for Battlewagons, Looted wagons, or any fw model, they are too beefy to be the flimsy trukk (except the land speeder). I would use any faction Vehicle that is a 10.10.10 armour (landspeeder, piranha, eldar/deldar speeder things, etc).

Only problem being, the smaller vehicles with that armor don't work, as they are far too small. I was going to thin out the vehicles and make it obviously flimsy.

But maybe I could do more of a racer thing, possibly using Basilisk platforms or the like to add troop spots?

Check my ork gallery for subtle battlewagon conversions, the skull from the ork bikers kit is easily magnetized to the front of the red battlewagon as a trophy, also zombie heads hanging off the horns.

The Taurox would be the best for Trukk conversions. It's mainly just tall, and not that wide (certainly not enough to be a battle wagon) so a few snips here and there and it'll be good.

If you wanna do Necron-based conversions, maybe chop up a Ghost Ark or glue two Catacomb Barges together. Alternatively, Orks being orks, you can always just chop up parts into vaguely trukk-like shape and glue them together, filling in the holes with whatever looks good.

Now, the Taurox, and Chaos Rhino conversions are pretty light for now, but I plan on adding more Orky bits down the road.

Also, I find that the Trukk is equivalent to other armies' transports as far as size goes. Their smaller vehicles more suited to being buggies.

I use gutted rhinos for trukks.

With that size in mind, a gutted Taurox withave some extra plating could run as a Battlewagon convincingly.

Rhino's work well.

As for Necron vehicles, not an awful lot since the Ghost Ark variants are too bulky to be Trukks and the rest are either walkers or flyers. You might be able to make something out of a Barge variant though.

With enough imagination, you could probably think of something out of Necrons. I'm in love with this conversion (which converted me to paint my Orks as bad moons).

That is pretty much the most bad ass thing iv seen in a long time.
