Greetings, DakkaDakka!

With the new rules for the Tempestus Scions release for their Start Collecting! Box, which allows a Commissar to call in a replace squad of Scions from his Formation, exactly the same as the original, when they die, I decided to make an 1850 ITC List utilizing two of these and a CAD.

Below you will see my lists, along with point values and upgrades, courtesy of Battlescribe.

General Idea is as follows:

4 4x Plasma Command Squads (Opted not to use the Plasma Pistols on the Tempestor, so that I can fit a 6th Scion Squad)
6x 2x Melta Suicide Squads
4 Tauroxes, all but one Camo Nets and all 4 having Missile Launchers.

I will aggressively deep strike the Hellrain squads, as they will respawn essentially every turn. Goal is to keep the Commissars alive in tauroxes that will keep as far away as possible, and keep objectives via other Scion squads as well as offering Beta Strike with the Melta Squadrons, and Command Squads.

Be sure to land the recycling units near slow enemies then charge them in next turn to make sure they die in assault, hopefully before your next movement phase. You want to deny your opponent's choice to leave one or two models still in the unit.

Since you have a CAD, consider a cheap fortification with Comm relay for reserves.

Tell us how many total meltaguns, plasmaguns, autocannons etc. there are.

I listed the total weapons at the top, I apologize if the format was odd.

You're absolutely right with the charging of the Melta Hellrain squads. Since the Commissars recycle them immediately they're very useful to just die instantly -- I can't wait to test it out.

Excellent Tempestus list! That reinforcement SR is great for harassing units, it should be awesome to play.

I see that you have 7-man squads in the Formations, why not 5-man since they are suicide units? This could free you some points for the comm relay aegis line.

I would strongly suggest taking the two CAD tauroxes as dedicated transports for the scions squad. This gives you two more fast objective secure units.

They actually are all 5 man, I believe Battlescribe just makes it appear like there are 7, because it lists the Melta Squads separately, haha.

I will HAPPILY provide feedback! I just ordered 4 Start collecting kits, all the necessary bits, and 2 extra boxes of Scions. I'll have them all made up in a month or so.
