Well.. if they haven't found the kid by now his odds of survival are slim to none. Unless he washed up onshore down the coast somewhere before drowning.

Hopefully he's just on the other side of the Taco Truck noshing a fish taco watch in all the hubbub.
Speaking as someone who lost a friend and work mate to drowning at the beach, things look grim for the kid.
Sad for the family.
