This is a list attempting to abuse Tactical Doctrines for a maelstrom mission. The use of Captain Centos in a demi-company is a bit of a question, he is a free upgrade for any UM Captain so for sake of this list we are going to assume it is kosher. YMDC if you want to argue about it, please.

Demi-Company: 1004
Captain Centos 90

10 Tac. Marines (Rhino, Missile, Flamer, C.sword) 195
10 Tac. Marines (Rhino, Plasma Cannon, Flamer, C.sword) 195
10 Tac. Marines (Rhino, Hvy Bolter, flamer, C.sword) 190

4 Bikes (MultiMelta,Plasma Gun , Power Sword) 124

5 Dev. Marines (3 rockets, 1 Lc, AC Razorback) 210

First Company Strike Force: 560
5 Sternguard (Combi-melta, Droppod) 155
5 Tac Terminators (Cyclone, Chain fist) 205
5 Tac Terminators (Assault Cannon,Chain Fist) 200

Strike Force Command: 285
Calgar (Armour of Antilochus) 285

5 turns of Tactical Doctrine (Gladius, UM CT, Calgar, Demi-Company, Centos)
10 Obj. Sec. units

Calgar and the Tac Termies are there as bully to help deal with opposing Obj. Sec squads. Dependiing on the opponent Calgar will have either Iron resolve or Storm of Fire. The other 4 just don't add much to the list.

Centos will drop with the Sternguard to act as a hidden power fist. The Sternguard will acts as anti-infantry fire support and the Devastors can focus on the Armor.

The Razorback can grab mid-field opjectives, or make a for a redeployment taxi /LOS blocker if needed.

From the go have Tactical Doctrine running for re-roll fun Turn 1 to 5. Turn 6 and 7 will be Assault or Dev. doctrine as needed.

While I ssuspect Eternal War Mission will hurt this list, I think I will enough units in play, mobility and fire power to stay competitive in Maelstrom missions.

I like the idea but really not sure about your unit choice or loadouts. Ideally I'd want to be running a full company in free Pods (or Razorbacks). Something like this:

Ultramarines Gladius
DBC
• Centos
• 5 Tac - melta, DP
• 5 Tac - melta, DP
• 5 Tac - flamer, Razor, TL las
• 5 AM - 2 flamers, Razor, TL las
• 5 Dev - Razor, TL las

DBC
• Chaplain
• 5 Tac - melta, DP
• 5 Tac - melta, DP
• 5 Tac - flamer, Razor, TL las
• 5 AM - 2 flamers, Razor, TL las
• 5 Dev - Razor, TL las

SFC
• Calgar (PA)

Storm Wing
• Storm Raven
• Storm Talon - skyhammer
• Storm Talon - skyhammer

That gives you 75pts to play with if I've added it up right. Stupid amounts of units making rerolls each turn, decent air, decent AT, decent alpha strike, and 22 obsec units (inc Centos and the Chap). You could switch a couple of the Razors for Pods in order to get more meltas in turn one, but there's plenty of las floating around that melta strike isn't crucial.

If you're going to spam something go all out

No Flyers on hand, and I have never been convinced of there effectiveness in any game I have played against them. I keep seeing everyone saying you need more flyer and more AA, but I have run lists with no AA and no flyers against flyer heavy list and they don't really make much of difference. Heldrake, totally different issue.

I find big stompy things like Super Heavy walkers, Wraithknights and such to much more of an issue in grabbing objectives.

Drop Pods kill the mobility you need for maelstrom objective grabbing, and are to easy to kill if someone needs the objective.

If I had the transports doing dual demi companies would be woth it for the free transport.

I find flyers are almost always a worthy investment, but that's up to you.

The Pods in the list are there for melta alpha strike and getting squads across the board very early on. Yes they reduce the mobility of the list, however 6 Razorbacks should be plenty. If you really wanted you could use the extra points to exchange the Pods for more Razors kitted out as you choose.

Despite all this, it sounds like you are limited by what you have. I'd be able to help a bit more if you gave a list of units you have to work with
