This is my predator WIP Thread for the Tank Shock campign GW is hosting this summer. Painting starts tonight. The last details are cables and wires that will lead to the fuel barrels and to the main turret. These are hard to paint/ prime with them on so they will be added after. Comments and suggestions welcome.

Animus Machina Rex
- This Predator tank is aligned to the Adeptus Mechanicus and was never assigned to a specific legion. Its machine spirit is so strong that any personnel less mechanically adapted than a techpriest is violently overloaded when they are fused to the predators systems. The result has been deemed a phenomena by the mechanicus, for a tank to have such a distaste for organic matter that it is unwilling to interface with, is a distinct personality trait usually portrayed by Forgeworlds Magos. Such it is believed that the machine spirit inside is a reincarnated Arch Magos from the Horus Hersey, for at the sight of the Traitor Legions machine spirit is sent into a fury of rapid fire las discarche so successive, it threatens to over load the vehicle and regularly starts fires. Whether the mind of a servant of the machine god was absorbed into the tank remains a hypothesis, but it is more commonly believed that it is the Omnissah himself that is guiding every searing shot from its Las cannons.

Spiffy! Enough conversion and extra gubbins to be distinct and Mechanicus-y, but also perfectly clear as to what it represents, in-game.

I think you should two-tone it one side black or bone, or give it big stripes to break up that red. Otherwise it looks good.

I agree there is too much red. Its almost blood angelsy....

Do you have an example of the two tone or stripe thing you were talking about?

Not long ways? Also, I think black might look best. Then invert the black panels to red.

What might work is if you leave it how it is but paint the middle top and sides black, from exhaust to exhaust, or the exhausts black perhaps.
