Three people were arrested with multiple loaded guns, knives and ballistic vests at the Holland Tunnel Tuesday when police stopped them for driving with a cracked windshield, authorities tell NBC 4 New York.

The three individuals, two men in their 50s and a woman in her 20s from Pennsylvania, were stopped on the New Jersey side of the tunnel around 8 a.m., authorities said.
A search of their vehicle -- a brightly colored Dodge utility vehicle with logo decals for Tonka, Monster energy drinks and another one that read "Higher Ground Tactical", apparently a gun range and shop in Emmaus, Pennsylvania -- revealed the weapons cache.

Police found a cache of guns and ammo in this truck after stopping it in the Holland Tunnel.

The guns seized included long-range weapons as well as handguns. A camouflage helmet with what appeared to be night goggles was also recovered.

Drugs were in the vehicle along with the guns, according to one law enforcement official. One of the suspects allegedly told authorities the trio was en route to Queens to try to save a friend who is on heroin and being held against her will. Police are looking for the possible woman in Queens.
The truck was impounded after the stop. It's not clear if the truck was owned by Higher Ground Tactical. NBC 4 New York has reached out to the company for comment.
The investigation is ongoing.

Yes, it's an ammo box - probably for .50BMG by my eyeball (though no idea what's in it now).

They're super handy for things besides ammo, as a side note, since they have a rubber gasket and seal watertight. I use one for charging my large lipo batteries since those can sometimes um, explode a little. That's super rare but the boxes are like $7 so why not?

The commonly accepted practice is, unless the article is extremely long, to post the entire article (for people who are at work and so the original site is blocked but Dakka isn't) and also a link so they can read the article directly (so people can see if it's Infowars or some other gak tier source and they probably don't need to read it).

I mean, it's not like an enforceable rule or anything but posting both is what seems to make everyone happy.

Also this seems more like local interest - generally only stories with at least national interest or a lot of room for community discussion go here. This doesn't really seem to have either.

Something tells me that driving a truck like that is just a massive sign to cops saying "Hi, I'm am idiot, please find a reason to pull my vehicle over and search it!" Jesus you couldnt lose that thing in thw dark with your eyes closed. Did they expect to burn the heroin dealer's eyes out with that paintjob as they pulled up?
