'Murica! (again)

I'm starting a new thread since the other is rancid w/the same moaning over and over again by those on my ignore list.
Hopefully this will be a bit more on topic.

Open, Matched or Narrative... who's getting ready and how?
For my Fyreslayers GrymFyrd Lodge got a new unit of 10 Hearthguard Berzerkers and a second Auric Runemaster to represent the Chaos Dwarf lineage and these will be painted in diff colors to denote reinforcements joining my lodge from a broken Runeson who leads his very few survivors to Grymfyrd. Open play will continue but I'm really stoked about how they present Narrative play. If it's anything like HH I'll be set.

Then rebasing my dwarfs and lizardmen for AoS.

So between summer campaign and the General's Handbook, whatcha doing?

Great idea! I am really excited about the summer campaign. Especially as I have just this month fully painted a 100 SCGT pools list, so that should be a 2000pt army or near enough.

My army:

There are 2 reasons I am really looking forward to this campaign. The first is I have never been around for a global campaign before. The second is to fight for these 3 cities...

I complained a lot at the start of AoS about the lack of places. The lack of towns, villages and cities. Well, now's really my chance to fight for the Age of Sigmar world and make it a better place! I really want these 3 cities to survive in the fluff and will be trying my hardest to smash the opponents of order to make that happen!

Which brings me onto Matched Play. I am really looking forward to honing my list, making it stronger, getting better at playing and racking up victory after victory (let's hope so lol!).

I am currently working on a Hurricanum to add to my list as well as some Freeguild Milita.

Exciting times!

I'm totally pumped for the campaign and looking forward to the scenarios in the Handbook. I already play with points using PPC and don't plan to change that, but scenarios really bring AoS to life regardless.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Wonderful! Looking good, there. I like that map goal. I'm also hoping to put Grymfyrd Lodge on the map in realm of fire...even if it is just as smoldering ruins where I lost

Nice looking army there Bottle. Is that Fyre Slayers (spelling/) in the left back there?

Sadly I can't get ready. Nobody here plays. So I just look forward to you guys and girls and hope all you guys and girls have fun and great times.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

My Waaagh is slowly forming.

I have Gordrakk on his dragon (or just a megaboss)
A Megaboss
Weirdnob Shaman
Warchanter
3 Goregruntas
5 Brutes
21 Ard Boyz

Tons of Savage orruks
tons of normal orruk boyz
tons of orruk arerr boyz

Might stick to just ironjawz, but depends. I like the idea of having lots of terrible archers and a swarm of basic orruks rushing in while the big hitters follow.

Plan to get another box of brutes, ard boyz and possibly gore gruntas

Stuck in the snow.

Not prepping for the Handbook per say as I don't know what the summer campaign is using, but so far I have:

All the Starterbox Bloodbound
Slaughterpriest w/axe
Exalted Deathbringer w/ gouger and axe
Aspiring Deathbringer w/hammer and axe
Skullgrinder
5 Skullreapers
5 Wrathmongers
MoK Exalted Hero w/battle standard
10 MoK sword-n-board Warriors of Chaos
MoK Warshrine
20 MoK Marauder Horsemen w/javelins

I'm thinking of adding maybe:
Start Collecting Slaves of Darkness
+10 Blood Warriors
+1 Khorgorath

Not going to be fielding all of this in one match, but I like having lots of options.

Gotta say though, Ill be very upset if Blood Warriors and WoC are battleline only for pure Slaves of Darkness/Bloodbound.

@Champion of Slaneesh "Betsy" is a great name for a dragon, haha!

@Davor yeah thanks man! 10 Vulkite Bezerkers:

I am actually looking to drop them, and all the dwarves from my list as they don't synergise very well with the rest of the army. But for the moment they stay :-)

Hey, thanks man. My bane is (as you know) I really need a unit of 30 to make these guys effective but it took me ages to paint ten!

Have you thought about changing allegiance mid-way through the campaign if another of the alliances offers your Lodge enough Ur-Gold?? :p

My Stormsteel host will be waging war in Sigmar’s name. He raised these great cities, and so shall they stay.
Will post pictures later tonight.

Well...those dastardly Chaos Dwarf ancestors... Actually, I will keep solo-Fyreslayers as I always do so, yes, if that is allowed the thought has crossed my crest, so to speak .

Yes he can raise the cities but he can't defend them. When the tuff get going, Cygmar get's going.

Saw some of the leaks today, and I have to say Plague Monks not being battleline base changes my plans pretty significantly. Looks like I'm gonna need more daemons.

They are battleline if you are going mono-faction. Guess you're going for a wider Nurgle themed force instead?

I've been going through the general's handbook leaks, but alas... It would seem that they didn't include a points cost for the battalion warscrolls that come with certain army deals

Like Arkhan's skeleton horde, Vlagoresu's court,...

My Stormcast Eternals are coming along nicely, and almost ready to take the field!!! I'm trying out painting them with the new stormhost silver and nuln oil gloss and it lets me paint them up a bit faster.

My Host of Azyr:
30 Liberators
10 Judicators
6 Retributors
6 Prosecutors with dual hammers
10 Protectors
5 Decimators
3 Dracotian Guards (magnetized weapons)
1 Lord Celestant on Dracoth (Axe)
1 Lord Relictor
1 Celestant on Foot
1 Lord Castellant (with gryph hound)
1 Excelsior Warpriest (with gryph hound)
1 Lord Relictor
1 Balthasar Gelt
1 Celestant Prime
1 Lord Celestant on Stardrake (magnetized Templar to swap in).

All are painted and done except for 3 retributors, 7 liberators and the Celestant on Stardrake. I doubt I'll have the stardrake done by the time the campaign starts, as I just picked him up last week and he's still on the sprue.

Was trying to go for half nurgle\half slaanesh, with clan Skryre allied to my slaanesh. Guess I'm just gonna have to grab some Clanrats, or more daemons.

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Really excited for the campaign and the handbook! I'd love to use my Seraphon for the campaign, though it's still quite a small(ish) force at the moment, consisting of a start collecting box + bastiladon. Really need to get a caster and some chameleon skinks.
