So, I just came in possession of some ratty IG vehicles and flyers, and mork's been poking my brain a bit to get lootin' again, which he is wont to do.

At any case, I'm looking to try a blasta-bommer from IA:8 (a superheavy AV10 flyer! Wow, a superheavy trukk!). I'm gathering the bits and gubbins I'm going to need, and have a good idea of what I'm going to do, but I'm curious - was there ever an official model for the bommer?

The closest I could find was this article on lexacinium:

http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Heavy_Bommer#Blasta_Bommer

And while a couple of the pics at the bottom are definitely computer-generated, a couple other look like a physical model.

I know there was once a fighta-bommer, which is a bit different. And I know that FW recently purged some of their older model ranges, but I don't ever recall seeing a 'bommer' type plane. Did it ever exist?

There was an Aeronautica Imperialis (Epic-scale air combat game) model for it. There was no 28mm model.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Welcome to the club. I used a giant model rocket nose cone to make the front of my Bomber. It works well and accepts plastic glue. Not to mention it is cheap. I got mine for $5.
