Trying to put together Silver Tower minis together. I got distraught over my painting skills so gave up for a bit and now come to realize that I can't get better if I don't start. So now I am just taking my time and not rushing. Could be a reason why I don't get better.

So I did one Stormcast, and just finished my Gaunt Summoner. So I am working on 3 more heroes so the family can play. So for our first game, what "bad guys" should I be working so we can start playing our first game next weekend hopefully or if I am too slow, the weekend after that. Do I need them all, or just a few to get going? If so, which ones?

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

You generally face a mix of most of them. Perhaps getting a basic base down on most would be a good approach.

I am doing the classic black undercoat, white drybrush and ink basecoats to get them mostly presentable before going back and detailing them.

A good way to start would be to get a spray can of white primer.

prime all models white then ink all the monsters into a theme color, ex:
Tzangors ink them blue
Pink horrors, ink them pink.
brimstone horrors ink them yellow etc...

that way you can already start playing the game and then paint more details as time goes.
