Since when are genestealers not a fething vanguard organism? I almost closed the page after that one, that's bullgak.

Yeah, lictors are also a vanguard organism, but come the feth on.

Other than that I got 34/40, a couple of those I screwed up on and went against my gut but had the right answer for originally, and then there's the stupid Tyranid question. Somehow I mixed up the Ork gods, too, no idea how that could happen.

Yeah that one pissed me off. Space marine lore tripped me up.

I got 62% that dumb question should have been right though.

I thought the thing with Gork and Mork is that one is cunning but brutal, the other brutal but cunning and Ork-kind isn't really sure which one is which?

31/40, but it should have been 32. I accidentally clicked the wrong answer for the one about Tyrant Guard. Oh well.

Oh, and the Lictor one. That answer didn't make sense. Genestealers, everyone knows that

Got 34. Don't know jack about Orks, Dark Eldar or Tau but made some educated guesses.

The Genestealer one specifically mentions the vanguard of an invasion, not scouting. I read that to mean "The first bugs to make planetfall", which is Lictors.

All the ones I missed were Tau/Dark Eldar/Marine fluff I've never read (haven't read a codex since 2nd edition).

PS: The Lictor has always been the scouting unit for Tyranids, advancing far before the other strains. Though "vanguard" may not have been the best term for it.

Not all of those questions have objective answers.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

90%, 36/40 right.

The Bjorn question, the Damnos and Tomb Stalker question, and the Haemonculus discipline question were my wrong ones.

Not going to lie: A couple of the questions in there are not correctly worded. Take, for example, the last question: It takes a lot more than a thousand psykers to power the Astronomican, but as many as a thousand (if not, more) die every day as a result of their efforts to power it. The second question is another example, because the planet in question doesn't 'watch over' the Eye of Terror per se, but guards a particular region of the Eye of Terror. Also, I don't think that 40 question can adequately test your knowledge of the 40K universe. It also fails to take into account the fact that the 40K universe is so rich in canon lore that people will often not know a lot of things about a number of different factions. For example, somebody may know a lot about the Imperium but very little about Xenos, while their friend is the exact opposite.

So as a test of somebody's 40K knowledge, I think it isn't any good. That being said: If you enjoy these sorts of silly little quizzes and have some time to burn, you might as well give it a try.

Also, @OP: Maybe next time post some content in the original post and not just a link. For example, what did you get? How did you come up with the questions? (Or, if you didn't write it, how did the author/authors come up with these questions?)

I didn't actually do the quiz. I read the questions, though. Why do you assume this is a result of me scoring badly as opposed to genuine criticism?

Question 28 has an error. The Sisterhood is divided in two. They don't have one headquarters but two. The first one is on Terra, the second is Ophelia VII.

Because your criticism has the tone of not liking something you did bad at, rather than a tone of being constructive.

Take it how you will, I guess, but there's not point making such accusations or arguing over them. I simply did not do the quiz but yet have criticisms based on reading through all the questions.

Regardless, my points still stand:

-- A few of the questions have errors, which means that there is already a problem with the test and its ability to assess the overall 40K knowledge of the person taking it.
-- I don't think 40 Questions can adequately test any person's overall knowledge of such a broad topic such as 40K lore.

34/40, bloomin' Ultrasmurfs. Also, why is there nothing in there about the Age of Apostacy, Seige of Vraks, etc. The questions seem to generally be just M41 centric and fairly generic. That doesn't strike me as a particularly good reflection of someone's knowledge of the lore.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

37/40. I have not read the Damnos books so no dice there (I had read the Lexicanum page earlier but it did not mention reanimation interference) and I voted genestealers instead of lictors as the hive fleet vanguard. :(

I also voted Triarch Praetorian instead of Tomb Stalker. Stupid me. They were guardians of the sleep, not the guardians of the worlds themselves!
