So, I was thinking that my Space Wolf army needs a cool centerpiece but.. The trouble is.. I'm not sure what to add as a cool centerpiece for the army.. So I wanted to ask here, What do you use as centerpiece in your army? Like that cool big model you are proud of, Of that awesome looking unit thats realy strong, Or the converted HQ that draws everyones attention..

For my custom SM Chapter it's my Chapter Master. Converted the hell out of him, and proud of doing so.

For my IG/Inquisition it's the custom Vindicare Assassin/Sniper, whom I've based on my favorite Dark Heresy NPC character.

For my Empire it's Bruckner. He's awesome.

For my Necrons, it has to be my Nagash-to-Nightbringer conversion.

I don't really have one for my SM army. Maybe you could consider my Stormraven the centerpiece, but I don't think the SM as a model line really have anything exceptionally "cool'. Our rules are great, our models are pretty standard (at least in my opinion).

For my nids, my array of monstrous creatures, probably the flyrant, mawloc and Dimachaeron. They are huge and my army revolves around them.

For my Eldar, my Wraithknight (in the one game he has played so far), or my grav tanks.

For my harlequins, it has to be my skyweavers, and shadowseers they just stand out to me.

My Deldar collection is limited, but I bought a really well painted Archon, so probably him!

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

For my DA Battle Company, it's the Deimos pattern Razorback that my custom command squad and company master ride in. It's not that impressive on its own, but in a Lions Blade, with all the rhinos and Razorbacks, it really stands out from the pack.

My Red Corsairs have Huron Blackheart and a squad of Chosen. The Chosen are painted as a Space Wolf, Blood Angel, Son of Orar, Astral Claw and Salamander with an occasional Ultramarine. I always keep threatening that I will get more Chapters represented there, but I still haven't done so. They're a talking point nearly every time someone sees them, which is how I like it.

My Tyranid showpiece is a 3rd Edition Forge World Flyrant. She's gorgeous leading my swarms with the big swooping wings that covers entire broods of little bugs.

My Dark Eldar have the Princess. Does triple duty as an Archon, Succubus or Corsair Baron(ess) but she's a jumble of Dark Eldar parts on a base I picked up from someone more talented than I am. A tall pose on a pile of Tyranid skulls. She's not perfect, but I really like the color I got out of it with a Macragge Blue and the green Wash. Ended up being a great color and she was promoted from test model to HQ choice.

Ancient Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought

My kit bashed Wulfen packs.
They're stupidly expensive here in Aus, so a Vanilla Marine start collecting box and a heap of random Chaos and Space Wolf parts donated to an extra ten Wulfen - oh, and I picked up a dreadnought, captain and five vanilla marines to boot.

So, fifteen hulking Wulfen monsters and five smaller ones that look more like the early pictures.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

For my sisters it's the living saint with some wings on it because Soulstorm is what finally got me into 40k. And Karamazov because crap he's a cool model.

For my necrons it's my illuminor czeras. Converted him with the front leg section of a canoptek spyder, torso of an old metal necron Lord and the tail section of an old metal necron wraith. Looks freaking awsomeawsome. Unlike the fugly uninspiring model gw officially have for him.

Grey knights would be my librarian which is the librarian from the space hulk game but with those pesky blood angel symbols filed off.

Used to be my bloodthirster. Traded it for a bunch of marines and about 60 cultists the other day. Now my centerpiece is going to be the FW Lord of Change. Or maybe a Kytan Demon Engine. It depends on the flavor of the month lol

For my Dark Angels, I don't have a centerpiece right now. When I build and paint my Imperial Knight, it will become a centerpiece model for the army.

For my Daemonkin, it has to be this guy:

And for my Tau, this big bundle of joy:

How did you paint the Stormsurges lenses? Every time I try that I'm not precise enough with typical GW brushes.

My wulfen-grotesques and my wraithlord-turned-pain-engines are both big hits with my opponents. It helps that, as the toughest units I have, I want attention on them.

Wasn't very hard at all, but it should be noted that I used Army Painter brushes for the detail work. I only used GW brushes for the bigger stuff like the armor. To paint the lenses, I just basecoated each one with whatever color (Mephiston Red for the red, The Fang for the blue/gray, and Caliban Green for the green). Next thing was to add a lighter color in a crescent shape to simulate the way lenses look in the light. Finally, in the opposite corner from the lighter color I added a dot of white. For the bigger ones I used multiple sections of progressively lighter colors. If you look at the model up close I wasn't terribly neat, but from a distance it looks okay.

I have 3 technically.

An Ordinantus Majoris (titan sized weapon platform) with a Sonic Disruptor. Its the Ordinantus Ulator's bigger brother.

A War Zeppelin that dwarfs other aircraft around it. Modeled after the Kirov from Red Alert.

and finally an Atomic Cannon artillery piece, its sheer size making it stand out.

Infantry wise, It's got to be my HQ choices, namely my Blood Angels Captain (5th Battle Co. "Daemonbanes" Captain Aedus Sendini, Keeper of the Arsenal)

As well as my Librarian, Epistolary Lexon, attached to the 5th Battle Co.

Vehicle wise, I don't have any finished as yet, but eventually plan to have a Storm Raven I can field as the vehicular centerpiece/large model for my force.

That's mine. Take it easy for now.

Typically my centerpiece is my Imperial Knight, painted up to be the Obsidian Knight. Eventually though I'd like Commissar Yarrick to be my centerpiece though once I've put enough detail into him.

One problem with Ultramarines is the lack of the big, flashy, centerpiece. I think the closest I come is my honor guard in a Land Raider.
