This list is made to stomp my friends nid list that continuously beats me. The only things I know he is taking is a flying hive tyrant and 3 dakkafexes and 2 tervigons. The flying hive tyrant is the thing that always kills me so this time I'm going a bit overkill to just beat it. The previous games were lower point games.

1320 (220 per unit) 6 x 30 slugga boyz w/ nob boss pole and power klaw
39 Mek Gun (traktor) w/ +2 gretchen and 1 ammo runt
82 Looted Wagon +3 Rokkits
114 Warboss w/ power klaw, eavy armor, and lucky stick
145 Dakka Jet w/ flyboss and additional supa shoota
140 1 x 10 Lootas

Basic plan is move boyz up field and blow flyrant out of sky... and that's about it.
I'm going to bubblerap the mekgun with the lootas to try and force the flyrant to get into range of the mek gun or risk continued fire from the lootas.
The rockits on the looted wagon are going to be used at firing at the carnifexes. He is going to bubble rap the fexes in guants so the template from the killkannon is going to hit the fex and the guants around it.
Dakkajet is the fail-safe for the flyrant and to take out some fexes.

A fellow victim who has been getting beat relentlessly by nids. I don't have any recommendations for you but I will be looking at what other people comment to see if I can modify my own list.

"The space marine officer was waving and yelling to his men on the wall unaware he was leading the Squiggoth on. Stompy (the squiggoth) headbutted its way through the wall and gave chase to the terrified commander as he ran up seven tiers of the fortress, trying to close gates behind him and ordering men to cover his fight. In the end, stompy cornered and pulverised the officer in the heart of the citadel as thousands of orks poured through the breaches he had left behind."

I can't say I have a ton of practice fighting against tyranids, but I can give you a couple pieces of general orky advice.

The first is the lootas. Right now they're out in the open. I know you're probably strapped for points, but put them in a battlewagon and make sure the flying hive tyrant can't see the rear (maybe parking the back of it on the edge of the board) makes them far more survivable as the S6 can only glance the side at best. It also adds a ton of maneuverability so he won't be able to hide from them because you're shooting into the air anyways so moving 12" then shooting has no downside.

I've never been a fan of the 30 man blob of orks as they tend to trip over each other and get all clogged up making charges messy. This can work though if you just park in the backfield and make him come to you. You'll be able to use your longer ranges on your other weapons to pick off some guys as they come forward and focus down the hive tyrant, hug cover, and try to get into a better position for a counter charge.

If you're only using one mek gun you're really risking the 50/50 to hit. Even with the ammo runt for one semi-reliable turn of shooting he could just jink it away. But it seems like you're using it more as a distraction unit to keep the hive tyrant busy.

As for the looted wagon and dakkajet, they both have their uses so I feel like they will do pretty well. The only thing I would want to avoid with the dakkajet that I know I'm prone to doing myself is targeting the big monstrous creatures with it. You're very unlikely to do the 4 wounds needed to kill a carnifex, and it's just as deadly at 1 wound. I find it's generally more beneficial to wipe out a squad of gribblies quickly and send the power klaws after the big stuff then. (Of course if the monster is already hurt the dakkajet can finish it off!)

Really though, it's going to be about pulling him towards you and then when he's in the midfield push back with your WAAAGGGHHH! If you spend that one turn repositioning, that could allow you to charge more stuff in at once and give him less to fight back with.

I would probably try adding at least one more traktor kannon preferably two. Other than that maybe an aegis defense line or battle wagon for the lootas. Other than that I think your list looks pretty solid. Best of luck mate.

Yeah i agree with the above maybe drop a squad of boys and add in a wagon and stuff it with lootas keep him away from the tyrant because that haywire is a Birch maybe add in a few deff koptas for the twin linked rokkits they just sneak wounds off stuff and being ap3 is lovely against nids, also theyre super mobile for jumping on objectives

And thats the problem with most ork lists/players. You cannot just run/charge and shoot anymore. You really need a bit more strategy and synergy.

for example:

Warboss + warbike + power claw + thinking kapp
Warboss + mega armour + lucky stikk
Painboy

30 orks + Nob + powerclaw

With the thinking kapp you can roll 2 times on the strategic warlord trait. If you get infiltrate you can combine these units into one big infiltrating unit. Tyranids dont got a lot of ap2 weapons so as long as you keep the lucky stick mega warboss upfront then their is really nothing the can do. You can also use the bikerwarboss as a slingshot to expand your reach.

You can also add a aegis defence line with 3 x 5 lootas and let them shoot down that flying hive. At sum point its going to fall down and then you can assault the bug.

With orks you have to commit to 2 of the following options: tougher, faster, shootier, multiple small units or superpsychic (weirdboyz). A lot of ork players got a little bit of everything and that is not going to work anymore.
