What does GHB do that affects Non-Points play?
Do the 3 rules of 1 (probably have that backward) and/or changes to summoning impact?

The only rule I'm aware of that affects open play is the allegiance abilities. It's stated they can be used in any game of AoS, but really its easily ignored if the players don't feel like using it.

So the two rules I mentioned are only applicable to Open Play if the players agree to them?

Open play is unaffected except the allegiance abilities. The rules of 1 etc can be added if people like(so it says in the hand book).

Also playing without points will still be used in narrative play as well. Path to glory doesn't have points and campaigns do not require points but are an option if you choose.

Many thanks, guys. Debating on the rules of 1 but I am sold on the summoning pool. In non-points that would have to be a pool of figures off to the side, I'm guessing.

the summoning rule is basically wrapped up in the whole points part of the GH. You would have to adapt it for open play.

After reading the Rules of 1 my group always plays with them. It keeps Wizards in check and stops totally un-killable deathstars from showing up on the table.

If you want to play Path to Glory you wont have to use points, but theres only official lists for a few factions, so you might have to write some up

Its fairly easy to write up path to glory for armiles. We did so when the chaos one came out since people wanted to play but were not interested in chaos. Moving forward to have the charts in the battletomes is a good idea.

Also requires a group that is ok with "non official" material. You may have one of those, but a lot of groups are against that unfortunately.

Against non official material. A lot of people are beholden to the word "official" for a variety of reasons.

I've run non official events and rules for a very long time but I will say that it is a very long, arduous and painful political process to get accepted (and the only reason I can do it is because I've done it for going on twenty years so have built up a level of trust... if I had just started I don't think this would be possible today)
