So, one of the Battalions that I really want to run is the Subterranean Fyrestorm introduced in All-Gates. Unfortunately, it's not in the Generals Handbook making it impossible for me to run in Pitched Battles. So, has GW made any mention of how they plan to handle getting point costs out for new models and Battalions that were created/published after the Generals Handbook was sent to the printer?

Thanks

No official word but since none of the campaign book batallions received points it's likely the will remain narrative only for now.

It's unlikely that they will have point costs given to them. PPC (see my sig) is the same scale as GHB and has points for every battalion, so you may be able to ask your opponent if you can use the relevant value from there. However many battalions have had their values changed to reflect Matched Play, and the newer battalions are not yet on the website. Until the next PPC update goes up in about a week you'll have to check the DakkaDakka thread for the up-to-date values.

The Generals Handbook has specifically said that it is only providing costs for battalions from Compendiums, Grand Alliance books and Battletomes. This is on page 108.

So, no we will not see any other battalions costed. I would suggest the reason for this is simply that some narrative play battalions are so good, or so specific in use that GW does not want to try to balance them for Matched Play but still wants to make them available to players.

I would say that if you want to field some of them, have a chat with the other people you play with and use a fan points system - PPC is obviously in the same scale, SCGT pools x 5 roughly equates to GHB points.

It's a shame. I was looking forward to using the 'Sons of Behemat' warscroll in Matched Play

Considering how poorly balanced the battalions are in the GHB it's probably good that GW doesn't do more!

I asked them and they specifically stated they were for narrative and open play. Either way I have the sons of behemet and blood scorched bulltribe.

My Armies:
Orks about 15000-16000 mostly unpainted but slowly being worked on
Militarum Tempestus about 2000 points just built
Inquisition about 2000 points unpainted
Officio Assassinorum 570 unpainted

Maybe point them up yourself and ask your opponent if he is happy to allow you to play it. I have found since AoS has launched "3 ways to play" people are so much more open to tweaking the rules a little.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

You can always ask your opponent. Most of the WS have been in the 80-120pt range. Hammer and Anvil is a BEAST for me, but alas is not in the GH. We've been using just what is represented in the GH for the campaign.
