Looking to start a small force of a traitor legion, though I am not sure where to begin. I like the play style idea of each legion mentioned though I would like to hear some feedback from experienced players on their thoughts on either one. I like the World Eaters idea of strict close combat, but I figured I Already own SW loyalist, and they seem to be gearing towards CC as well.

This is 30k, World Eaters might like close combat but it doesn't mean they don't have artillery companies and heavy weapons units and tanks. Everyone has a bit of everything in 30k, Night Lords even have at least one super heavy tank Company.
Play style is what you make of it, although SoH definitely favors reserves and pods. NL favors infiltration, pods, and jump packs, WE like tacticals.in large numbers. This doesn't mean you are less effective going different routes however.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM! |

How do the Primarchs fair? Curze sounds rather interesting and decent enough at surviving. Horus is all around good. Angrow sounds angry and tough.
I like the idea of infiltration and jump packs, different play style then I'm use to. However being able to adapt to most scenarios with SoH seems pretty good. If I went WE I would most likely gear them strictly CC at all times since it's my favorite aspect of the game and I like the idea of Angron running headlong inot the fray being able to kill almost everything.
What have been some personal experiences anyone has had with any of these legions and characters?

Konrad is great at surviving especially if you put him in a squad of jump guys, can soak up alot of fire. Just keep him away from tanks and knights

Are Fire Raptors better over the basic jump infantry?

Night raptors? Yes. Yes, yes and yes. They get d3 extra attacks on the charge, rather than 1. They have ws5. They get 1 Flamer/hand Flamer/meltagun/plasma gun/plasma pistol per 5. Any of them can take a chainglaive/power weapon/lightning claw/pair of lighting claws. However they are quite expensive at 150 base an 20 for each additional guy. They also only go up to 15 models, so they don't benefits from a talent for murder against large assault squads. Imo they also look really nice

The 40k CSM Raptors also make excellent Night Raptors with very little conversion. They even have the same style jump packs.

Remember though that because they are bulky units (due to the jump packs) each raptor counts as 2 when calculating talent for murder. So a squad of 15 will outnumber most units.

Over some time I've amassed over 5k of World Eaters. They are undoubtedly the kings of the shock assault. A combination of legion traits and rite of war gives your units hatred (everyone), rage, and reroll of 1s to wound when you charge. Chainaxes just got changed to +1S and World Eaters can swap from chainsword to chainaxe for free!
As others have said, every legion had a bit of everything. It would not be out of place to have a heavy weapons squad in a World Eaters army. If you have other questions about World Eaters feel free to ask away!

Exactly. Just make sure that all the WE heavy weapons have bayonets on them

How is Angron and Curze as individual units on the table? I have yet to field or fight a Primarch.

Angron will butcher pretty much anything, but that's all he does. He doesn't really buff your army in any way. And he's fragile, the most fragile of all the primarchs with only 5 wounds and a 3+ save so he needs a bodyguard and a good transport. Curze is slightly les butchery than angron but he buffs your army with fear on everything and a -1ld modifier on fear from anything tha already had it. He himself causes a -3ld modifier on fear checks against him and when he wins a combat, nearby enemies have to test ld or fall back. He's also jump infantry so he's quite mobile and hit and run means he can escape if he needs to.

Pragmatic Primus Commanding Cult Forces

I'd say Angron is substantially killier considering he can smash down vehicles that Curze can't touch. Armourbane (with S8) is a big deal.
Even thinking beyond just opening tanks and superheavies, you figure a fight with a Contemptor or Leviathan dread wouldn't go well for Curze, while Angron could make short work of them. But then that's why Curze has jump infantry and hit and run, so he can avoid the combats he can't win.
This underlines how FW does a good job of making the primarchs play in a fluffy manner. Angron is a rolling ball of hate and death, while Curze is a sneaky assassin flitting around the battlefield.

Well through all that was stated I decided on Night Lords and bought myself Curze. Looking forward to seeing how he works out for myself in the coming days.
