Want a change from scatt bikes, wriathknights and warp spiders but want to keep it competitive.
Been drafting out lists using the Pale Courts Battlehost from the Doom of Mymeara Forge World book to make a Craftworld Warhost. Here is what I have come up with. Please comment as I am keen to hear what you think.
Craftworld Warhost (1850)[u]
Pale Courts Battlehost (Core)
Fareer, stones of An'thlaan 115
15 Guardians, 3 starcannon 195
15 Guardians, 3 starcannon 195
10 gaurdians, 2 scatterlaser 120
3 D-cannon support platfroms
3 D-cannonsuport platforms
2 D-cannon support platforms
Heroes of the Craftworld (command)
Eldrad
Living Legends (command)
Avatar of Khaine
Dire Aspect Shrine (Auxiliary)
10 Dire Avengers
10 Dire Avengers
10 Dire Avengers
The Pale Courts Battlehost allows you to select two 'craftworld traits' for the battlehost. I choose the Disciples of Vaul trait which allows the battle host to include a heavy weapon platform for every 5 guardians and also include 1-3 Vaul's Support Batteries. This gives the army tons of strength 6 longer-range firepower and a TON of D.
Being a Craftworld Warhost obviously means that I get the full 6'' run for all units in the army so I can have my army across the board very quickly (especially with Eldrad's warlord trait). Farseer and Eldrad could roll for Gate to move units across the board quickly.
Keeping Dire Avengers close to the avatar makes for a formidable assault force: 30 bladestorm shots and then 30 s4 attacks on the charge for each unit within 12" of the avatar; furthermore if rolling on the Sanctic table, Hammerhand could bump a unit of Dire Avengers up to s6.
The glaring weaknesses are that it has no Objective Secured units and no anti-air.
What are your thoughts?
