Hi there, I'm planning to do doubles 30k with a friend of mine (750pts each). He's running Nightlords built around assaults + fear tactics - I've decided to complement that with models I'm working on, so Admech (or Dark Mech in this case).
What do you think of the following list in support of Night Lords? How competitive is it and what would you change to make it more so?

Thanks in Advance.

Magos Prime Ordinator (Archmagos Prime) w/ Abeyant, Conversion Beamer + Infravisor
- We still wanted long range fire support and so decided to keep the Ordinator.

Thallax Cohort x3 w/ Destructor + Multi-Melta
Thallax Cohort x3 w/ Destructor + Multi-Melta
- The Thallax seemed to be a valuable addition, fast moving anti tank troops.

Vorax Class Battle Automata x2 w/ Frag Grenades, Irad Cleansers, Enhanced Targeting Array
- We wanted something scary that can scout up to support the Night Lords ASAP, a Distraction Carnifex if you will (but one that could be deadly if ignored).

Thoughts? Opinions? Constructive Criticism? Thanks.

Now i'm not familiar with the latest book FW put out, but I've fielded Thagmata out of the first three books for
years now, so forgive any dumb questions. Is this a CAD or age of darkness detachment? If so you need
another troop as Castellax can never fill you're compulsory troop slots. Second, your Castellax have paragon
of metal as a squad? I was under the impression only a single model could have paragon. Assuming no
paragon you need a cortex controller on your magos, and a cyber familiar is almost always worth it. Maybe
make him a repair magos with a cortex controller to fix wounds on your Castellax as they will draw all of
your opponents AT fire. Also why do the Adsecularis have grenades, point fill? Seems fairly useless to me,
but to each their own. Normally i'd say you lack any real CC presence, but if your with night lords, he may
have you covered. That being said it would be helpful for him to not have to expend alot of effort guarding
your squishier elements. Were I in your shoes with so few points i'd play a horde. A magos prime Lacrymerta
(sp?) and as many squads of Adsecularis as I could fit with carapace and rights of pure thought. Maybe even
revenant alchemestry. A Tech priest squad of Lacrymulis to boost the FNP in that case could be very nice. If
you don't mind getting cheesy the wording on the priests could be interpreted as +1 to FNP per priest, unless
they changed it, which I hope they did. That army is hard to buy all the models for though. Painting would be
a nightmare... a compromise maybe? A bunch of hit-and-run tactics Thallax with a Jetpack magos tooled for
fire suppourt. It would work well with an up and close list like night lords, be an easy army to collect and play
due to low model count, and Have some nasty punch with Plasma fuslils, photon accelarators or multi-meltas.

Thanks for the response.
I'm trying to write this through Battlescribe (Thagmata Darkness Detachment).
Usually Battlescribe gives me a heads up with illegal combinations but it has been known to be wrong - so you say Castellax can't fill compulsory troop slots? Damn.
Checked the rules again and you're right, Paragon can only be taken on one. Thanks for the heads up.
Okay I need to add in the Cortex Controller, and will add in the familiar too.

Your other points are also very helpful and revealing. I'm going to have to reconsider my list and decide which way I should go - Horde or Thallax.

Let me put it to you this way, I have yet to ever regret taking thallax so my efforts would go in that direction.
Adsecularis are a great wall, but if they run into another horde or very high ROF they turn to toast. Castellax
are great, but don't think of them as troops, because I feel they really should not be. They are monstrous
shooty tanks without much movement so think R'varna battle suit or broadside if you are tau familiar.
Powerful, but can crumple quickly under sustained AT fire, or really punchy units like primarchs and most
chapter masters.

Also, the Thanatar is soooo worth it. even at this points level I'd be trying to fit one.

I've talked it over with my partner and we've adjusted the list now, taking your valuable advice into account and our combination plans.

I'll edit the list above - please take a look and get back to us.

Looking much better. Vorax huh? They are quite the distraction carnifex and they don't really care if they're out of cortex
range. Most opponents be like when you say they're T7. I might also toy with the idea of Usirax now they have
sweet models. All those S10 fists are friggin scary and claws are no slouches either. Also I may be wrong, but don't
upgrades on the Thallax change what slot they're in? Oh wait. I think that's just for the skyfire ones, but you might check
the newest rules. Let me know How you fare in your games, I am most curious.
