They are some impressive looking mini's but it seems a very narrow army path to take, what is everyone else thinking about these?

Are they also usable with another destruction army? Say the Ironjawz or more likely bonesplitterz...

I like it but will be converting nautical models for an ogre sea pirate force of monsterous theme. Low model count army, lots of room for personalisation amongst the heroes modelling, nice room for dynamic basing, packs a punch,

They are destruction so I would assume they can be used with other destruction armies, but my guess is both the mournfang and Yeats are going to be battleline if everyone has the beastclaw keyword. We already have their warscrolls, and they seem like super heavy Calvary, the frost lord can have more effective wounds archaon, which is saying something. All in all they seem like what one would expect from ogre calvary, tough hard hitting and low model count.

Constantly being negative doesn't make you seem erudite, it just makes you look like a curmudgeon.

I actually LOVE the look for beastclaw, and I'm thinking about making an army around it.

To answer your other question, since all the units in BCR have the "destruction" keyword it (units) can be used by other destruction armies.

Mournfang, yeti, stonehorn, thunder tusk and frost Sabres are all batltleline in a beast law force.

They do look incredible and I'm very tempted to try make a force around them myself!

Not always. Frost Sabres are only Battleline if your general is a Icebrow Hunter and Icefall Yhetees are only Battleline if your general is a Frostlord on a Thundertusk.

Not playing Fantasy before, I never herd of them before. I thought they were Orogers. I thought these were new kits and surprised they are old ones.

Wow what great minis for something that is not really new. I am strongly consider making an army out of these.

Wonder if they toned down the thundertusk's 2+ do 6 mortal wounds to something within 18" thing.

No - The 5 Thundertusk list remains among the contenders for "most cheese in 2000 pts"!

GHB issues aside, I like what I've seen of the Beastclaws. It looks like their allegiance benefits aren't as good as Sylvaneth or Bonesplittaz but they make out like bandits when it comes to battleline selection; best in the game by a fair margin. Only Deathlords with Morghast battleline comes close.

Well, there were already people wondering in the AoS facebook group if this army is a bit OTT.

One dude had 6 playtests with them and lost 1 model in those games. Apparently some batallion allows the monsters to heal, making the full 6 mortal wounds blast tear through anything and everything... :s

Some of those battalions aren't usable in pitched battles at 2000 points because it exceeds the behemoth/hero caps

For some reason, I want these models more than I've wanted any other AoS models to date. I had some Death models, but I painted the large one (Zombie Dragon) and gave them all to a friend of mine for Christmas. But, I mainly play Order (Stormcast, Sylvaneth, Seraphon, and Fyreslayers) and have had no interest in Destruction until this army was announced. Not sure I'll have the money for the Icewind Assault (which is what I really would like to get), but more importantly, I really want to finish painting my Fyreslayers before putting more on my AoS to-assemble/to-paint list... and that doesn't even take into account the near mound of 40K models I still have to assemble and paint.

So, I'm going to take my time painting my Fyerslayers and then I'll invest in Bestclaw Raiders. But, unless something else comes up (which is always possible), the Icewind Assault is my next GW purchase (excluding paints I may need to finish up my Fyreslayers).

I have been playing Beastclaw since I started with AOS. The very small model count is not necessarily hard to get used to but every loss is felt. The new characters and weapon items are unreal. They were good with say just the destruction options but the beastclaw ones are even better. Healing thundertusks, item that heals, the frostlord with a 3+save halving wounds is insane.

The only thing I would change in a competitive sense is that frost sabres are not really viable when they can be substituted for yhetee.

Oh and yhetee are the true unsung heros of this list. For the same cost as 3 regular ogres with the -1 to hit always the rend -1. Sabretusks have the same attack profile and move but the additional rules and half the wounds make them much less of a choice.

Other rules like the blessings of the everwinter which are always in effect every single hero phase are amazing FREE upgrades. The list itself was strong without these additions and will be much better with them.

There are lots of little synergy that can be used in this list and a lot of little things that can be overlooked. One of the best examples is the beast skull on the mournfang banner barrer

Wish I still had my Ogres army. They look great when on the table. I look fwd to facing them. But those big beasties pack a punch.
