Hello there!

A friend and myself are planning on attending Adepticon 2017 and entering in a team 40K competition. I was having a look around and I didn't see the rules for this years team tournament (when you click on the event rules link it takes you to a hotel booking site...). All I've got to go off of is last year's (2015) rules, which were (in a nutshell) 2 individual 1000 point armies coming together to make one 2000 point team army. This is the perfect format for us!

So as we enter the actual planning phase, what advice do you have for our armies? Not really composition or anything as we are going to run what we want to and just have fun with it. I know that Adepticon doesn't necessarily have the same rules every year so its very possible to have our armies invalidated or not be enough when they actually release events, but we need as much time as possible to plan composition, theme, painting and such.

What do you folks recommend? Really I guess this can cover all team events rather than just Adepticon.

My general advice for any event would be to check with the event organizers. Anything else is going to be a guess and potentially wrong.

I'm in the same boat as you godswildcard, me and my brother were looking to get into that game as well. This will be my third year going to Adepticon, and I've noticed the rules seem to change each year.

My plan is to make a 1000 point army, maybe even 1500, so I have options to change in or out when the rules do come out. If I remember correctly, they will have the rules posted when they open registration, which shouldn't be long since hotels are open now.

40K Team Tournament rules are undergoing changes/tweaks right now. A draft will be posted next month before registration goes live.

You can find the 2016 rules here: http://www.adepticon.org/?page_id=10141

While the rules will change/adapt to the current state of 40K, the 2016 rules will provide a solid foundation.
