Best way to use them? Jump packs or a drop pod? Kitting them as follows 2 Lightning claw, 2 th/ss, 1 power sword/plasma pistol. Thinking jump pakc sbut them might just die?

I've only ever fought against them (as IG) and if I'm brutally honest, they don't seem worth it.

Twice now I've prevented the majority of them making it to CQC. They seem alright as a bodyguard unit for a Jetpack Chapter Master/ Captain but they're too great a threat to be left alone.

I will dedicate firepower to eliminating them and sadly they're just not tough enough to survive it.

P.S. (Edit) to be clear, I've only fought them with Jet Packs running around.

Run them in a Shadowstrike kill team. Jump packs are a requirement, so...

If you put them on foot, you are better off as Honor guard.

That was my thoughts too.,.. Maybe put them in a rhino or something? Can they assault out of that? Heck even having them run up the side with jet packs would be a great diversion. you have to deal with them before they get to you !

No, they can't assault out of a Rhino.

VV's are what, 19 points per marine before upgrades and die like a 14 ppm tacticals (who are already bad when you're not getting them as a tax for free transports and ObSec Everything) and have no shooting to speak of.

Stormshields aren't bad, but then you face the same problem as terminators, where you just get drowned in bad AP shots, and at T4, there's going to be lots of them.

They're a cool unit though, so kit them out however you want and use them in casual games where it's not quite so trivial to blow 5 T4 3+ wounds off the table accidentally.

Run them in a formation that allows them to deepstrike without scatter and charge turn 2. They turn from glasscannons that NEED to get there into glasscannons that GET there.

Well, that formation (Shadowstrike Kill Team) isn't for Blood Angels, only for Codex:SM. But I guess if you ask politely your group will let you use them. At least they'd be fluffy addition to Blood Angels.

They're a formation anywayz and they're battle bros, so you can run them with whatever CT you want, paint them red, call them successors and be golden.
