The windows and lighting are very good. The figures look a bit crude, maybe it's just the human proportions on them and the weapons after I've seen too many GW figures

So, I take it you just marched into Ropecon and went "Gimme the prize!"

Heck of a nice bit of work. Mine was the Hercule Poirot diorama in the next case over :-P

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Thanks for the comments!

To Kid:

The figure on the left is a conversion from two Hasslefree figs, which are both good sculpts and casts as such. I took the head and legs from one and the torso with the katana from the other. The katana wielding figure was smaller and equipped with a hooded jacket so I had to cut something and greenstuff something else, so the proportions might look a bit off. OTOH the Rogue Miniatures figure on the right is not the best as far as design, sculpting and casting goes. I think it was serviceable, though. Painting is also not that fancy as I did not want to spend too much time on this (skills as well ).

I've been moving away from GW altogether for a couple of years. Now they are starting to look silly in my eyes

Perhaps I was not that confident

I liked the athmosphere and subtle colours of your diorama, nice work.

EDIT: problems with quotes...

The angle might also be playing a role. It's hard to judge a model from the back of its head.

Agian great stuff.

I know the pain of trying to find the perfect miniature for a project all too well. I have a few ideas on ice for the eventuality of someday finding something to make them real with. I can't sculpt worth a damn, so that limits my prospects a bit.

It is a cracking good song, though.

Awesome!

The only poorly painted miniature is the one that is not painted.
