So...the name would imply they are in the chaos grand alliance, but all of the lore would suggest destruction since they worship their own little god.

What grand alliance are these little dudes?

Chaos, without a doubt. Hashut is/was a minor chaos god or similar entity, and the chaos dwarves regularly provided equipment and siege weapons to Warriors of Chaos. Hell, it's even in the name.

Everything destruction worships Gorkamorka.

Chaos.

I forget the particulars, but its mentioned in one of the Realmgate Wars books that they built a series of fortresses for Chaos. Hashut even gets a name drop. He's probably looked upon as a minor god, like The Horned Rat is/was, before he took a place in the Chaos Pantheon.

Could run them as counts-as goblin war machines.

This one confused me as well. I had just made a Forge World purchase a few weeks before I had realized the 8th edition world blew up. So I am trying to figure out what happened. Did Hashut die in The End Times or how did Hashut survive and bubble export to the AoS world?

Chaos Dwarves place in the world is much clearer and defined in Kings of War and The 9th Age.

There is not any, to my knowledge, narrative story about chaos dwarves in AOS at this time.

The Forgeworld Chaos Dwarves are fabulous. I am in process of building a Chaos Dwarf army. I will also be using them in the Kings of War and The 9th Age as both those games have rock solid Chaos Dwarf rules. I've been a little confused on the AOS role of Chaos Dwarfs.

I've heard that they get mentioned in All-gates... Haven't leafed through it yet though, its a big book.

Might be what Nels1031 mentioned though and is in one of the realmgates wars books... Can't remember where I heard it.

Maybe. I know I'm finally building my chaos dwarf army after having it in boxes for a few years, so I would love some actual narrative on them in the new setting.

While not about some Chaos Dwarf Faction, you can tell some Chaos Dwarfs have joined up with the Fyreslayers with the way some beards are shown.

'Murica! (again)

CD are getting back in, though no new fluff yet, besides the new Bull centaur super hero. People play them though, Ben Curry from Bad Dice for one. You can always watch his show for updates as he would be on that stuff the moment it hits. :O

With AoS picking up, it seems like Forgeworld is going to be making a Fimir and continue with Chaos dwarfs.

I'd like to see some hobgoblins return.
