Hi everybody
I'm curious to hear of any examples you have when you (or an opponent!) displayed some epic tactical genius in a game of AOS. Lots of winning situations are built on lists or luck, but AOS can be surprisingly tactical i have found- what about you?

At the moment nothing comes to mind. All of the games I played are a combination of list efficiency coupled with good luck at the right time.

Not from me but I'm always impressed when I see players use rules like the 3" buffer to funnel units and limit moves. Perfect combat activation to maximize damage and return hits is also great to see in action.

I've been playing with some different tactics here and there but try to keep the games story driven.
So picking casualties atleast in the vacinity of the attacking unit and other stuff that just doens't make sense otherwise.

I did pull off a shield and spear formation yesterday, savage boyz with shields and chompa's up front and boyz with spears behind them. And then keep putting magical shield on the front boyz giving them a 4+ save. That's pretty respectable for cheap models with 2 wounds each

The game can be won or lost by picking combats and using buffs correctly.

Playing the scenario is #1 which some people forget. I played a game 2 weeks ago my opponent forgot to play the scenario for the first 3 turns while destroying my entire army but I was able to take out his hero's in turn 4 prohibiting him from scoring and surviving the final turn to pull a win. He may have been able to kill 80% of my army but my focus was on scoring vs wiping him from the table and pulling out the win.

I don't recall anything about wiping the opponent meaning auto-win either. So that makes the scenario even more important.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.
