Hi guys
So I'm struggling to get my head around the deathwatch codex and I was wondering if this is alright ?
I'm 70 points under and have no idea what to spend it on
Watch Captain
artificer armour, thief of secrets, combi plasma

black sheild, heavy thunder hammer
watch sgt, xenophase sword
heavy thinder hammer
2 power weapons
corvus blackstar

You need to have a clear purpose for your kill teams.
The Heavy Bolter squads: what do you plan on doing with them? Heavy Weapons can't move and shoot, so you seem to be at cross purposes putting them in Razorbacks. Unless you mean the Infernus Heavy Bolter?
Again with the Frag Cannon squad. The Xenophase blade seems like a waste, as for you really want these guys stuck in combat?

I see your point with the heavy bolters, I misread I thought they were assault
To give them a bit of cc ability if they get charged, then the librarian doesn't have to do all the work.
But dumping all that gives me 155pts but what would I spend on that ? I don't want a dreadnought becaus they're poo hahah

I'm pretty sure in the codex the infurance heavy bolter is assult 3... doesn't that mean you can move and shoot with out the snapshot penalty.. but I think kills teams need to be doing one thing or another. Make sure you either focus on either shooting or CC I feel like mixing won't be good.

Can a razor back take 6 models? I thought it was only 5?
Also, IMO, i have not basis for this what so ever, but from waht i have seen, Death watch is not so hot at 1500+
They are great is 1000 points and less, but 1500 and over, they are better as a support unit. IE running the full cassias kill team for 563(?) points, then running the other 900ish another army, like guard, or some other melee army.
To really utilize them, you need to focus them on one role. Give them a purpose.
Because for example, if you are going up to a guard army, there are not many single model units that can stand up to 60+ punisher cannon shots, just by sheer numbers you will get blasted down.

I definitely agree with creating kill teams that have a purpose (not mixing close combat upgrades with shooty ones or heavy weapons with assault weapons)
for example:
Aquila kill team
5x Veterans (4x DW Fragcannon)
2x Terminator (2x Assault Cannon)
Drop Pod
if you get this squad within 12" range thats 8x str 9 ap 2 shots (or 8 templates lol) and 2 assault cannons ideally rerolling 1's to hit on whatever you are targeting (And all wound rolls since it is an Aquila KT)...should erase a lot of units. A drop pod would be nice i think for that but everything in the black spear gets deep strike so thats up to you.
The great thing about the infernus heavy bolter and the DW fragcannon is they can move and shoot them with all profiles so mixing them with stalker pattern bolters might not be the best since they will be firing snapshots if they move.
Also both of those weapons have template profiles so if any unit wanted to charge you, you would get a pretty nice overwatch with 4 of them in a squad.
