We'll have more on the exact content of all of these soon. Look out for them in stores soon.

*We're also going to have loads of new models and books, obviously.

I wonder what those tint paints are for? Plus those XL cans look good if they end up being at a discounted price of course

Very interested in the tints, wonder how they differ from glazes?

Also I wonder whether they will come in full size paint pots or are they mini ones only.

Finally why does the tint set appear to come with a sculpting tool - that seems a particular erh...'unique'... way of applying paint.

"Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. " - V

For those curious about the tints, I suspect they're Citadel's take on filters..

Spoke to my local GW and it seems that they are indeed filters as mentioned by Azreal. I assume the stick is some kind of thing to dip and mix the colours.

189 paints? Is that the whole range? How much do these big sets usually go for? $300? $400? More?

Last year, I bought the project box with 49 paints and it was honestly the best investment I've ever made. Unfortunately, a dozen of them were dry paints, which I use, but not often and don't feel they are as useful or common. Would not mind at all having instant access to another 140 colors.

Nah, that's just the spreader tool they did for the textured paint/liquid green stuff a while ago from the look of things. Might be there's some textured paint in that kit then?

Aren't filters and glazes basically the same thing? They both color the underlying surface without obscuring it.

Fundamentally yes, personally I'd think of it as a glaze when it's of the same color and just tying highlights together, whereas a filter may be a different colour and used as a weathering technique. But I don't think there's functionally much difference.

It's a good primer though, I may have to pick up a XL black one, but I find the Corax white to be a good one.

Awww, yeah! Check it out- we're getting less useful spraycans! I always wished I could buy less at a time, as the current stuff is so hard to store.

Aw, crap.... I didn't realize they are bigger cans, thought they were cute little skinny ones by the perspective. Guess I know who's stupid in this one....

Maybe Corax White is easier to say than Jahgtai Khan white? Still a head scratcher, though.

White is the new black, while black is... still black. Who knows? Any ideas on the prices for the greedy-size sprays?

It's an Xmas release, even if they did announce the prices, they'd have gone up by then!

I intend to use my Jedi mind-tricks on my wife to convince her to let me buy that Ultimate Paint Set for a bajillion bucks, although I suspect the discussion will quickly devolve into me doing my best Hayden Christensen-style pleading and begging and end with me lying next to a pool of lava with three of my limbs chopped off, just like the last time we had an argument.

I might be biased against poor GW paint pots of the past, but while the idea of having the all available is appealing, the reality of most of them drying out before I use them is a major detractor of the big box.

I use glazes a lot with my painting & was disappointed with the 4 inks in the current set so am really interested in these. My current ones are the old gw ones which aren't totally waterproof.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

189 paints are goin to cost a pretty penny. More than likely these things will be out in early November for holiday shopping. Though I do find it odd they just don't make product such as paints, more readily available (kits like above) considering people will always need more paint. I doubt it is worth saving a paint release for holiday season shopping because they could just have the money from people wanting it now, rather than later. Then still possibly add on extra sales during holiday. But either way the numbers are crunched, it would be the same. So I don't grasp their logic.

GW pots still suck. It's not their worst iteration, but I still get paints going claggy, washes losing their washiness and occasionally paints drying out completely.

Was told the XL primer is £15 so effectively two cans for the price of one and a half.
