Subject: Is 'arder betta? Buying a Model Carry Case

I need to buy myself a model carry case, Im noticing carrying my models in icecream comtainers is starting to leave chips in their paint :O and with the addition of some metal models every time I carry them I expect to touch up a few when I get home, so I need to choose between 2 cases, the Citadel "ard case" and the crusader case. Now I do take my warhammer interstate on a plane atleast twice a year to play with my brother in my home town, and I do prefer the look of the ard case, but can I justify almost double the price in Aus dollars? I need some opinions because Im really at a standstill.
Also the max amount of models I would ever bring would be 3 soul grinders, 60 daemonettee, a keeper of secrets and be'lakor, can that all fit in the ard case? My soul grinders can detatch at the waist so I think It may be able to.

An Ardcase would be enough to carry your models, but I would point out that chips in your models is likely caused by models moving around in their boxes. What works for me is lining my boxes with the foam you get from any GW box and bubblewrap; the key is to pack ypur models in tight enough that they don't move around but not too tight that they break under the pressure.

Unfortunatly the retailers near me dont sell any foam similar to gw, and the boxes I use really don't do the job despite my modifications. So just gonna go ahead and buy GW's stuff, I have never been let down by their quality

The quality isn't bad but the cost is a bit much, for me at least. If you have the money go ahead and by GW cases.

Oh I agree 100% the price is crazy. Thats why I made this post to see if its worth it or not in comparison to the other case

What other options are available, if you are going on a plane then the ardcase is supposed to be the mutts nuts. I don't know if things like KR cases are available in Australia, but those things might be a good choose with the hard metal camera style cases. As they are a lot cheaper.
Like mr happy face said, the chipping your experiencing will be solved by getting any kind of foam case. But taking your cases on a plane is going to be the fun part, I'm guessing you take them on as hand luggage?

Well the ardcase will certainly be a very good case for being secure and safe in the hold, and even has that little pressure release valve. If you're happy to spend the money on it and it's the one you've got you're heart set on, I say go for it. If you can get KR cases in Australia however, it might be worth having a look at their range. They do very nice foam, and offer nice hard metal cases. I'm not sure they offer locking ones though, which might be something you should probably consider.

I'd definitely go KR multicase before GW. Or, the ideal option (something I've been using lately) is genuine Pelican cases filled with miniatures foam. The cases are expensive but can occasionally be found for cheap (when sold used).
Buy model carrying foam inserts from somebody and fit them in the heavy duty case = voila. Hasn't helped me figure out how to carry all my Eldar walkers though...

You can make your own foam in circles and put it in your ice cream buckets. Go to your local craft store and get a thick block of softer foam, and a thin sheet of the harder stuff. Cut your "case" circles out of both pieces, then cut your model shapes out of the thick piece(all the way through). Glue thinner piece in bottom and voila! you have custom foam for like 30 bucks.

otherwise, I also would recommend KR. https://www.krmulticase.com/

I don't want the best army, just one that isn't an exercise in picking up my models by turn 3.

If I had 100 + Drukhari kits all in plastic to choose from, or 100 + Sisters kits, I think I'd be more likely to be receptive to Space Marine player's complaints about anything.
