Just curious.
50-55 games with solo Fyreslayers (includes 1-1, 3-way games, events, teaching & tournaments)
7 games in July-Aug 2015 w/Dwarfs and Lizardmen before they were covered in battletome or GA Order, obviously
1
Duardin last weekdend.
How 'bout you?

it gets old fast with the same 3, the game is not very robust at that point. but we have/had a buttload (just shy of an @$$ton) of models so at least the armies were varied. This game desperately needs a good solid group of 10+ or it gets stagnant. IT is a good little game, but definately deserves no hype and scant little of the praise it does get. I think our longest match was maybe 45 minutes at 5 warscrolls a piece. We never bothered with points.

About 30. Played in a small tournament, against my brother in law and some of his friends, and have a regular gaming group where there are about 5 others who play.
In general I have to ask if somebody would like a game but at this point nobody has actually said no to a game.

here it has pretty much died out completely. my son still gives it a go every once in a while with me, but our third gave the game up so we are down to just us within about 45 minute drive.

Sadly one. I have one friend who plays and our schedules aren't lining up well for us to find time.
The game was Sylvaneth vs my random units of Chaos. Surprisingly balanced tbh, Allarielle and Thanquol/Boneripper killed each other in a single turn basically, and my Lord of Plagues just barely moped up the last of the dryads. Bloodreavers are quite literally a worse unit than Grots if I'm entirely honest (im running them as chaos marauders next time).
I'm building a unit of cavalry at the moment so I'm definitely looking forward to my next game, but I just wish I had more friends (the age-old dilemma it seems).

Bloodreavers don't really work without a Bloodsecrator, so using them as marauders is probably a good idea. Sounds like you had a good time otherwise, enjoy!

Stormcast are undefeated yet. Daemons were 50/50. Sigmar protects, yo.

Just one with my Flesh Eater Courts. I lost because we were playing a scenario from Season of War that had you lose if you lost your monster, and the only monster I had was my Ghoul King while my opponent playing Seraphon had a Bastilodon and the... I forget its name, the poison-spitting Carnosaur-looking one. It wasn't bad by any means, I want to get a few more things to expand my army so I can get some more games in. Right now I'm kinda bummed out by the pickup game culture being the only thing, I was hoping for more people wanting to do campaigns and not just X points.

FEC are fun imo. I played vs. them at GW store and asked the owner to bring the fluffy spawning list the way their fluff makes them seem so "charming." Said screw the 100 points and just add to our 2000 game ( GHB was 2 weeks away at this point) and I loved it. Very fluffy, cinematic and light-hearted game Plus they look soooo cool on the tabletop.

About 4.
My group tried AoS one weekend, and the KoW the next. We haven't played AoS since..
Although, I liked it. I reconnected with an old pal from High School and he plays with a group about an hour away.
My FW Bull Centaurs aren't going to be unit based just in case I ever want to play AoS with them. They are too expensive to keep shackled to one game.
I plan on getting some Aelf too, whenever they come out.

That's the one. Yeah, I'm not thrilled that matched play put the kibosh on summoning new units; I get why it had to be done, but I feel FEC really needed it. Now whenever I build armies I feel like I'm always not bringing enough (but maybe part of that is because I want to fit my King on Terrorgheist into every list). They are definitely fun though. I feel AoS in general needs to be more light-hearted, fun and casual games with like customized scenarios and stuff to tell a cool "narrative".

Nobody plays in my area so took the wind out of me trying to put my minis together. Hard to do when knowing you can't get any games. Finally got all the Silver Tower minis put together. Not painted but now the family can start playing.

Woah, you're in Northern VA? Grew up in MD and worked in the DC Metro area for many years. I like KoW 2nd but only played a few games, my army is in storage until 5 or so weeks anyway then shall be painted Abyssal Dwarfs soon (I hope). Anyway, if you are looking for players I might be able to help. If no need, sorry. But good to make your acquaintance anyway.

@Wayne completely agree. Screw the points. I'd rather see the fun army and have that experience. I just add another hero or 5 hearthguard or whatever You have a good scene in Tampa? Don't hear much from FL gaming groups in my circles.

That would be awesome. In fact I am doing a graphic novel project with AOS doing just that.
Unfortunately finding players that want to do that as opposed to competitive play is very hard to do.

One! Played a match of Orcs (me) vs. lizardmen. It was looking good for the Orcs (of course, I'm a bit biased) but we had to call it before we were done.
For reference, I consider myself a Kings of War man, but I've only played maybe half a dozen games of that one, I really don't play that many tabletop wargames, despite loving painting up my fantasy armies! Automatically Appended Next Post: PS and despite preferring Kings of War, I thought AoS was really fun too. I'd happily play it again given the chance. Automatically Appended Next Post: PPS and apologies for my ignorance, but without points how do you set up an AoS game? We had a third player who was like a referee, and when I pulled out an Orc unit, to set up, he would then turn to the lizardman player and say something like "OK, so you should now take your blahblah unit"
Neither of us had any idea of the relative strengths or stats for anything we put down on the table!

Usually SCGT or clash comp for general idea of size and I prefer that to match play but ok. Narrative scenarios usually give you an idea of what kind of force to bring. Or eyeballing is very easy, bring what you guys want and you'll be fine. If it's uneven use sudden death so it's more fair.

The funny thing is, the answer to this question...
but without points how do you set up an AoS game?
Is to do exactly what you said (negotiate roughly equal starting forces by whatever means you choose), or to use points from a fan comp. SCGT is similar to Matched Play as I understand, only with all values divided by 20. PPC is the same scale as matched play but granular and with monsters tending to cost more. Honestly when you are just learning the game don't worry too much about it and take it easy, despite the 4-page ruleset it takes a few games to get ahold of how AoS plays. Scenarios from the campaign books are also pretty varied and fun, and very newbie-friendly unlike many wargames.

After Tomb Kings, Flesh Eaters are probably the best Death faction. All of their courtiers add models to existing units, which is perfectly legal as long as you don't go above starting size. And Ghoul Patrol is so cheap for what it does that its pretty much auto-take unless you are toning things back.
[edit] As a side note/question, if Azyr Comp is still being kept current then I would suggest that to non- GHB newcomers since Auticus has, IMO, a better handle on game balance than SCGT.

Flesh Eaters is by far the most fleshed out AoS Death faction. Tomb Kings would have had the spot if they hadn't sadly gotten squatted. Outside of FEC, Death is the one faction that feels like you're "supposed" to run Death allegiance and not pick just one.
