Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knew whats the story with the use of macharius tanks in 30k? Like I'd imagine they'd be called something else at the time.
But even ruleswise is there any massive changes to the tank itself?
As always your help and opinions are appreciated!

The Macharius was produced after the Heresy by a AdMech guy reverse engineering various STCs to make an ersatz baneblade. So it's not really something that would be used in 30k.

There is no reason how ever that you cant use them to simply represent any number of 'unknown' or 'forgotten' vehicles in Imperial Service at the time. Since I believe they are listed as a Super Heavy option available to Armies in the Age of Darkness.

Yeah, just call it Lupercal Heavy Tank and be done with it.

Yup, the rules for them are in Imperial Armour Volume 1 (2nd Edition).
The latest Legion book clearly states that you can take them as part of the Lord of War slot in a Legion list, to represent local tank variants in use at the time, since 'actual' Macharius tanks weren't invented until later.
The nice thing is that, since they're only 6HP each, you can take two of them in your one LoW slot as a War Machine Detachment
