Greetings all!

The guy at my GW convinced me to get into sigmar. Lot of people in my area started up or carried over from WHFB. I have never played fantasy before, and this will be my first game of sigmar. I ahve played 40k since the early 00's, so familar with gameplay. I like the idea of a mass of letters racing across the battlefield. So I think im going to build a blood letter heavy force and see whats its limits are in terms of damage output. With that in mind this is my first list heading in that direction. Please let me know what you guys think. I also have 6 bloodcrushers I can add in somehow.

Skulltaker

Bloodsecrator

Bloodletters x 30
-Icon and Hornblower

Bloodletters x 30
-Icon and hornblower

Skull Cannon

Total: 980

Edit: Sorry about the AoS in title. copy and pasted from soemthing else. facepalm

This is a very good bloodletter-centric list. I would just note that the bloodletter units should have leaders since they are free.

A tip, remember that hit bonuses (and penalties!) affect the triggering of their 'Decapitating Blow' rule. This means that a bloodletter with +1 to hit will deal mortal wounds on a 5+ instead of just 6s. This also synergises well with the 'Unpredictable Destruction' rule you get from having Chaos allegiance (the 'Lord of War' command trait is also a good option for this list).

One more tip is that even if you do not have to take battleshock (because of the Bloodsecrator) you can still choose to take battleshock. If your unit didn't lose very many models (5 or less) then it is worth taking battleshock to try and roll a 1 for the icon.

thanks for the tips! Murderous tide rule was the reason I decided to take blocks 30 strong. It should keep the +1 hit bonus active longer, increasing the amount of mortal wounds. Secrator compounds the effect. Skulltaker is just such a dope model I had to include it. Skull cannon same, lol.

I never even thought about the syngery with unpredictable destruction rule! Thats really neat, thanks! Battleshock tactic to.

I'd drop the Bloodsecrator and take more demons. Break up the bloodletters into units of 20. Take at least 8 units total and run a Host of Khorne. I think you may need a bloodthirster though. The Hosts battalion ability is Vetter than Unpredictable Destruction... Sigh... GW why is does the Chaos allegiance have a 'destruction' ability? Unpredictable Chaos would have made more sense.

Thanks for the idea, DD! I think I'm going to try the bloodsecrator though. He is only 100.. So that would by me only 10 more letters. I the the secrator will have a more profound impact then just the ten letters.

I plan to add a bloodthirster at 1500, I will make sure to get 7 additional units and get the bonus the host of Khorne.. I just forget exactly what the bonus is. I haven't paid the 1.99 for that warscroll

There's really no reason to run 20-man units of Bloodletters (or any other daemon battleline). Its either 10-man for minimum requirement filling or 30-man to actually get stuff done. A unit of 30 and a unit of 10 is better than two units of 20.

The Bloodsecrator is actually 120, but that just means your list is 1000 even He's also absolutely worth it in a Khorne Daemon army, as the main downside of Bloodletters is a single 1" attak. Doubling that is far better than a blob of 10 that can be swept aside without doing much. The main downside is you can't really call your army a "Khorne Daemon" army with him in it ... or I suppose you can wave your hand Obi Wan-style and say it anyway There will come a time with the "Daemons of Khorne" battletome that taking pure KD has a purpose, but until then, I'mma Secrate on myself too

Ahh your right he is 120. Still, an amazing model and ability. I'm glad my math was wrong but still works out!

EXACTLY! For the longest time I kept trying to find why having an allegiance to khorne DAEMONS specifically is beneficial. Only if you wanted to run a puppy (hound) army or pure bloodcrusher army did this make sense. Until a KD battletome (? correct nomenclature ?) comes out and has other bonus' for being strictly KD, this is how I'm running... so yes Technically this is a Chaos grand alliance army with a concentration in Khorne daemons (sounds like a university major at this point)

Thanks for all the help guys! After a few games, I may tweak the list and post up a few more for further discussion. If anyone has any other ideas on how to buff the letters, or other cool synergies to throw out there.. why not?

I ahve to check out that forge world model thats makes units/a unit fly and run super fast! Also thought about how the BT of fury allows units to pile in 6" rather then 3" could be helpful as even though you have 30 letters, most wont be able to attack due to being out of range.
