Spawn of Chaos

Looking to get some feedback on this 1000 points of Bloodbound, I'm looking to make this the core of an army that will expand to 2000 eventually, the models are made up from the starter box kits with conversions.
Mighty Khorne Lord - 140
Bloodsecrator - 120
Bloodsecrator - 120
5 Blood Warriors (Gorefists) - 100
5 Blood Warriors (Gorefists) - 100
20 Blood Reavers (Reaver Blades) -120
20 Blood Reavers (Reaver Blades) -120
20 Blood Reavers (Reaver Blades) -120
= 940
Thanks

So far, from my trials with the army. Your better off going with the meat ripper axes for the rend.
Armies that have high saves tend to deflect my reavers, and I almost always wish i had the axes(Working on a squad of 20 with axes now), and that's pretty much all the armies in my gaming group.

If the models were not from the starter box sets I would, how have large units of reavers been working out for you so far? The bloodsecrator takes away a big negative (bravery test) and gives the attack bump, I am a little worried about having 60 guys with no save at all.

It isn't a strong list, but it is not a weak list either. If it is doing decently against your local opponents then everything is good since matched play is still very much about gauging your army's potency to a rough balance with your enemies. I don't see the number of Bloodreavers as being particularly bad as much as there are options that are better (characters and monsters, really) but that's speaking to the imbalances of the points. As you scale to 2000 I would recommend taking a look at the Dark Feast battalion since that is a good option for people running a lot of 'reavers. Sticking with the 'not-abusing-undercosted-models" approach you should look into bumping the bloodreaver squads to 10-man so you can run a champion with the goreglaive (on the leader specifically since he has an extra attack). If you are willing, breaking the Khorne loyalty to add a wizard could be useful to cast mystic shield on gorefist units since it helps them dish out mortal wounds. You are probably going to want to dip into daemons either way for skull cannons to get the ranged support you need, and at least one unit of wrathmongers is an extremely useful inclusion for any Khorne-centric list.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page
I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.
I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games. |

For me, the reavers usually get one shot at taking out a highthreat melee unit, before they die horribly. But against any ranged, they never last that long. A good way to get some kind of save is to take a warshrine, other than that, I mainly use them to distract( the potential for 70+ attacks with -1rend does that).
