I've been looking at the prim arch models, and not being a fluff nut, I can't tell what kind of armour the Forgeworld primarchs are wearing:

Horus = Cataphractii ?
Perturb = Cataphractii ?

And the others? I read somewhere that Ferrus is wearing terminator armour but can't really tell which type of even if it is terminator armour at all!

Would love some experts to fill me in.

As a general rule, due to their size and status, most Primarchs have entirely custom armour. While it might have been PA or TDA somewhere way down the line, it's almost unrecognisable as any actual Mark or Pattern of armour by the time they're wearing it. Some are clearly derived from Terminator Armour (Horus, Perturabo) while others have their origin in Power Armour (Fulgrim, Lorgar, Gulliman), but the armours are so heavily modified that it's pretty much impossible to tell beyond that.

Angels of Caliban cover has a pretty clear picture of Johnson, looked to be a modified form of Mk 3.

Angron's armor (the Armour of Mars) is his gladiator armor from Nuceria, just enhanced. So I don't think it can be said to relate to any particular mark or type of Imperial armor.

Entirely custom and unique, likely only one set of each suit of armor exists in the galaxy.

That said, some armour is distinctively of a certain type. For instance, Horus wears Terminator armour, albeit a particularly massive specimen.

One correction, Lorgars armour is based on mk3 (from the sculptors interview, you can see it in the backpack at least)
