So can the Kill team detachment ( not the other the kill team game specific rules) be used in a normal game of 40k.

Yeah you can and better bring in list with no kill team in it as backup..
Because you still have to ask TO or your opposing... For a permission, of course.

I'm downloading the book to my phone right now so that I can check, but I'm pretty sure there was wording preventing this detachment's use in regular gameplay. I'm pretty sure it's only applicable to regular, non-Kill Team games of 40k.

Yeah, I'm very sure you can't. But on top of it, there are restrictions here that can't be met unless you were playing Kill Team. Specifically, it's impossible to have a Leader or Specialist if not playing Kill Team.

Killteam mission - aye. You only can take kill team detachment.
But it is also a detachment for Warhammer 40k just like CAD...

Or you can use chapter 'the next mission and beyond' and give a reason why you add your kill team in large scale ( aka normal ) warhammer 40k.

That how I read it... And my kill team rule book is enhanced version..

Oh! And in killteam detachment did said that you have to put one leader and three Specialist.. So I read it as legit as well!

That's a great question. Clearly it was intended only for Kill Team format games but there may not be an explicit prohibition.

But don't try to surprise anyone and don't try bringing it to an organized event.

Again, you can't do it:

#1 - This detachment has a requirement that you take a Leader and three Specialists.

#2 - Only games of Kill Team give you Leaders and Specialists.

Unless you have some other way of fulfilling that requirement, you cannot use this detachment in a normal game.*

*unless they've changed the rules and having a Leader/Specialists is a function of having the detachment, and not playing Kill Team.

I would have to say no good on taking a Kill Team detachment in regular 40k.

I've ran a Kill Team event with a Apocalypse game at the end, We basically gave everyone's Kill Team detachment the Kill Team special rule and formed a single unit of guys with all the special rules.

Armies:
The Iron Waagh: 10,000+ 8th Edition Tournament Record: 4-7-1
Salamanders: 5,000 8th Edition Tournament Record: 4-2
Ultramarines: 4,000
Armored Battle Company (DKoK): 4000
Elysians: 500
Khorne Daemons: 2500

Completely agreed. You can't fulfill the requirements/restrictions for the detachment in normal games of 40k, so it's not an option.
