Just picked up the Sylvaneth battle tome and the start collecting box and had a question on the Branch Wraiths Roused to Wrath spell. Does this count as summoning according to the General's Handbook? It doesn't say summon the dryads, and it's a 2d6 roll not a set amount. It seems if this counts as summoning it's a worthless spell.

Anyone have any clarification in this?

Yes it counts as summoning, and yes it is relatively useless in Matched Play specifically.

Thanks for the quick response! Working on expanding from my new set, thinking of buying 2 more boxes for more dryads and one of every tree, and definitely some hunters when they come back in stock, the bows just look amazing. I have 4 citadel woods, but since on Syl wood counts as 3, I think I'm going to need a lot more with the amount you can bring on the table!

As a warning; Sylvaneth have a steep learning curve, your first few games may not go so well! Sounds like you are off to a strong start though, good luck

Reread 'Reinforcement Points' on page 108 of the General's Handbook. The words 'summon' or 'summoning' are never used. The rule only cares if you have a spell or ability that allows you to add a NEW unit to your army. This unit will cost you Reinforcement Points. If you have a spell or ability that allows you to add models to an EXISTING unit, those models will not cost you Reinforcement Points but you are unable to increase the unit beyond its starting size.

That's hilarious because I was just reading all the rules on the battle tome and I literally said to the wife that I'm going to lose quite a few games before I figure this all out lol!

Wyldwoods are 1 to 3 of those woods so 4 should be fine.

Yeah, Kurnoth Hunters are great. Don't overlook their scythes though, as -2 Rend is hard to come by for any army! I myself have 10 Citadel Wood models, but I'm not going to use more than 3 or 4 outside of tournament practice/play. I'm probably part of the problem with GW keeping them in stock!

"I have concluded through careful empirical analysis and much thought that somebody is looking out for me, keeping track of what I think about things, forgiving me when I do less than I ought, giving me strength to shoot for more than I think I am capable of. I believe they know everything that I do and think, and they still love me. And I’ve concluded, after careful consideration, that this person keeping score is me." -Adam Savage

Also, the woods are not small by any means. If your battlefields are appropriately setup, you may find it hard to place more than 3 or 4 woods anyway.
