Hello everyone,

I've just recently picked up my first ever miniature that I'm going to be painting flesh on. I'm looking for some advice on painting a bruised / chaos / corrupt flesh for my new Slaughterpriest with Hackblade. I've never really painted skin before so am a little stuck on how to go about it. I tried looking for a tutorial but could only really find good tutorials for Caucasian skin tones.

Any advice / tutorials that could be given would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Bruised would pretty much be caucasian with spots of purple wash or purple mixed with flesh

Purple is really an underused wash/color IMO.

Great info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer/comments/36ao4a/the_lesser_used_but_arguably_most_versatile_wash/

That's really helpful thank you guys! Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to give it a test and see what works for me.

There's a tutorial block in the new WD with a section on doing corrupted/chaos flesh that may look bruised...

They went with Bugmans (flesh base color), a red wash, a purple wash on top, and detail highlights of Bugmans again on top of that.

You can see Duncan using a wash for bruising on the Bloodstoker's arm at the end of the tutorial.

@Ensis Ferra - Thanks for the tip, I'll probably head down to my local store to grab the newest White Dwarf in the next couple of days!

@Ghaz - Also thanks a lot! that tutorial video seems to have a good method! I'll be sure to test that one out. Thanks for the help

Snap a pic of it when you're done and let us see what you've got!

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the particulate.
