Hey Dakka,

I stopped playing for a bit a short while after the new FAQ. Is it being used? Has it been updated since its first release?

Thanks!

Most people I know are using the new FAQ, and they just (as of a couple weeks ago) finished the first draft of all the FAQs. No word yet on when the finalized FAQs will be released, but if you stopped playing because of the FAQ, I wouldn't expect any luck. There will likely be some changes to the final FAQ, but by and large I would expect the spirit of the FAQ as it is to remain.

Thank you. No I didn't stop because of it, just busy.

Hm... maybe they'll release it for the next version of the BRB.

I wouldn't suspect so, I figure the next BRB would be 8th edition.

Don't believe me? It's all in the numbers.

Which would be 7th + FAQ + some new bugs.

At laest hopefully. Don't think anybody has really verified there WON'T be big rule changes though.

Then again without big rule changes game will be same mess as it has been.

They might make Death from the Skies non-optional.

Other than the Dogfight Phase, the DftS rules are actually pretty fun.

2000 Khorne Bloodbound (Skullfiend Tribe- Aqshy)
1000 Tzeentch Arcanites (Pyrofane Cult - Hysh) in progress
2000 Slaves to Darkness (Ravagers)

Too many factions lose all their Skyfire, though.

DftS is poorly planned out and disrupts far too much of the current flyer lineup from doing their intended job. GW threw out far too many changes without touching points which is mind blowing levels of lazy. It can be a fun little way to spice the game up in a VERY pre planned game but in standard play it would be absolutely terrible.

"Hold my shoota, I'm goin in"
Armies (7th edition points)
7000+ Points Death Skullz
4000 Points
+ + 3000 Points "The Fiery Heart of the Emperor"
3500 Points "Void Kraken" Space Marines
3000 Points "Bard's Booze Cruise"

I almost suspect that they're not going to finalize the FAQs at all, and roll them all into one gigantic 8th release.

But, I was surprised when they opened up a FAQ request at all, so I could easily be wrong. I hope they finalize the FAQs without needing another edition update.

They're still rolling out, and probably more will come with the various updates for Chaos, Blood Angels and others.

At both of the shops near me we use the majority of the FAQs and errata, though we've houseruled drop pods back to how everyone always played them back in 6th (as in, doors don't count and you can always "see through" a drop pod), because that opened up an obnoxious abuse vector that nobody wants.

What you mean you DONT want them to be 35pt deep striking blocks of obsec the size of a land raider?

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

I don't know, Codex: Deathwatch basically calls it optional, and that was just released. I think if they were going to make it mandatory, they wouldn't have put it in Deathwatch like that.

4000 pts
4700+ pts
2500 pts Hive Fleet Gungnir

We'll see. I only own one Stormraven, so it won't affect me that much.
