Hello dakkamates,
Been interested in finally going 'ummie and make a space marine army, bbbbuuuutttt I wanted more of a theme with a ton of jump packs (like the models and friend gave me his stash of 'em). Any recommendations for a JP heavy marine list? Blood Angels used to be the "go to JP" army but wanted to see if with all the new sups and FAQs anyone else has wiggled to the go to.
Thanks
DW

in addition to blood angels, there's also ravenguard for vanilla marines.

Raven Guard are easily the best. Then we need to see the rules for updated Fire Hawks as well.

If you want a jump pack themed army then Raven Guard is definitely the best, although not the most competitive.
RG is fluffy and fun and nothing to scoff at.
Another good option is just regular space marines as that is one of the better codexes atm
Additionally, Firehowlers Space Wolves aren't the worst things in the game
Cheers!

The best Jump Pack Marine in the game is the Nemesis Dreadknight. A Jump Infantry Monstrous Creature in Terminator Dreadnought Armor (if you buy the Personal Teleporter).

Best jumpers in power armor are the GK ones, but they're pretty overpriced. I'd say if you want to go JP, go ravenguard. The Vanilla Book is just so far ahead of the BA book there isn't a supplement in existence or development that would bridge the gap.

Skyclaws are the best imo. Price of a tactical marine, rage, counter attack, can benefit from Wulfen Aura to potentially have double movement or +3 inch to move and charge. WS3 is a fair trade for all the benefits and cheaper points cost.

The best jump pack models are the ones left on the shelf in preference to bikes, but if you absolutely must field jump pack power armour, raven guard are the only ones to have special rules for jump packs and also allow turn 1 assured charges with vanguard vets in their special version of the gladius.
You can run the same formation outside of the raven guard special decurion thingy, but now you won't come down turn 1 and have to rely on reserve rolls, but can choose a chapter other than raven guard.
Alternatively, the skyhammer annihilation force formation also allows turn 1 charges with assault marines if you didn't want vanguard for whatever reason, and also comes with some rather nifty rules for the accompanying devastators.
Not much beyond that unfortunately, though if you don't have to be as competitive as possible there's an option in the BA book to get what is effectively the old furious charge back and you could take Dante as a LoW, jump pack sang priests as HQ, tacs in pods as troop, death co. or sang guard as elite and ASM as fast choices and have the majority of your army be jump based.
