Hi people ! I was just wondering which wash you prefered to use when painting white models (heresy world eaters, for example). Some friend of mine told me to use agrax earthshade. What do you use ?

Unless I want to give it an aged or dirty look, I tend to use black; it adds shading without changing the tone.

Depends entirely on what I'm aiming for.
A mix of Shadow Grey (the fang, now, i think?) plus white and Lahmium Medium makes a good blue-tinted white.
You could do the same with a soft purple instead of the blue, or colours like flesh tones, bleached bone etc
What are the other colours on the model in question? It tends to work best to shade to tie them together

I use vallejos light grey wash, though a bluegrey wash would look nice as well.

I like Payne's Grey oil paint thinned with White Spirit for using with White. It's a nice blue/grey shade.

Valley's pale grey wash is grand.

Depending on the overall tone of the model (ie how crisp and bright you want the white to be) I tend to start with an off-white, something like Dheneb Stone (or whatever that is now) with a sepia wash over the top and then mix in some white for the highlighting. Final highlight in white to pick out the highest details.

I used thinned down Asurmen Blue (now called Drakenhoff Nighshade) for my line troops (Blood Angels) and a thinned down Nuln Oil on my Death Company (gives them a darker cast).
That's my suggestion. Take it easy.

You don't know me son, so I'll explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed. |

Acrylic Payne's Grey with a glaze medium works great, too.
