As the title says, I used water with Dettol and didnt do my homework on it. (Stupid Boy)

So I currently have sticky gungy models.

Should I either;
A) Let the models dry in fresh air (Providing the gunk does dry)
or
B) Leave then in a fresh tub of Dettol

I put mine in neat dettol, a couple of days later any paint comes off in a big horrible wobbly sock. No adverse effects so far.

You just need to put them back in dettol for 24 hours.

Ah so THAT is why I've had such a horrible time stripping my models!

I've been using water/dettol mix and wondering why the paint turned into unfathomable sticky boogers -.-'

Never rinse dettol with water - or dilute it with water for paint stripping. It just turns paint to sticky gunge. You normally thin it with water for wound cleaning, because it WILL give you a chemical burn if used neat (complete with skin coming off).

If you need to rinse them, use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) or methylated spirits (ethanol+methanol) or just pure ethanol.

Or you could just use any of those last 3 by themselves and cut out the dettol - since it's mostly isopropanol anyway.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Cutting out the Dettol is probably the best advice.

1. Dettol stinks, your models will smell bad for years.
2. Dettol is nasty to get on your hands. It's wonderful at soaking straight into your cuts and cuticles, and the wrinkles on your knuckles, then stinging like a mothafether. One time I had Nitromors dissolve my gloves, while I was wearing them, and even that didn't sting as much as Dettol.
3. Dettol is fairly mediocre as a paint stripper. It takes ages, it struggles with some primers, it's harder to rinse, etc...

I use Biostrip20... It might not be as cheap as ordinary isopropyl, but it will strip most things to the plastic inside an hour, doesn't smell, doesn't sting, and it's viscose enough to paint on large things like tanks so you don't have to submerge them.

Yeah, Dettol + Water = Natyness. But ditch the Dettol and try this instead:

Also, unless it is not really badly painted tank I would not waste my time stripping vehicles and just paint over, especially if you have an airbrush.

Why bother to do anything with it? It looks perfect Imperial Fist machine.

Keep it like that, just do a great job on the flesh and highlighting/shading, burn marks on appropriate places and use the in universe excuse of Imperial Fists are warriors, not petty artisans (unlike those flamboyant, sucky blood angels)!
