So, I recently posted my current 2nd Edition Eldar Army on my blog. Someone asked me what the current value was in 7th Edition. I don't play 7th, so I have no idea.

In 2nd edition, with proper wargear/equipment the army above (including Maugan Ra who is not pictured) is: 5436 Points.

It is fully legal and playable as a single army (HQ =15%, Troops =52%, Support =27%, Special Characters =6%)

What's the largest playable (read: legal) 7th edition army you could make out of the following?

HQ:
-Avatar
-Farseer w/ witchblade
-Warlock w/ witchblade
-Warlock w/ Singing Spear
-Warlock w/ Singing Spear on Jetbike

Special Characters:
-Karandras
-Maugan Ra (not pictured, he was painted a day after this picture)

Troops:
-10x Guardians w/ Shuriken catapults (+1 melta gun, +1 flamer)
-10x Guardians w/ Shuriken catapults (+1 melta gun, +1 flamer)
-10x Guardians w/ Shuriken catapults (+2 flamers)
-10x Guardians w/ Shuriken catapults (+2 melta guns)
-9x Scouts w/ needle sniper rifles
-7x Dire Avengers
-10x Dark Reapers (1 not pictured, he's being fixed!)
-10x Fire Dragons
-6x Swooping Hawks
-12x Striking Scorpions
-5x Warp Spiders
-7x Howling Banshees

Support:
-Distort Cannon on grav platform.
-Lascannon on grav platform. (Bright Lance in modern rules)
-Dreadnought w/ Heavy plasma gun (Wraithlord w/ starcannon)
-Dreadnought w/ Lascannon (shoulder mount) (Wraithlord w/ brightlance)
-Warwalker w/ shuriken cannon + starcannon
-Warwalker w/ twin missile launchers
-Warwalker w/ twin scatter lasers
-Warwalker w/ shuriken cannon+ brightlance
-Wave Serpent w/ twin missile launchers + shuriken cannon
-Wave Serpent w/ twin bright lances + shuriken cannon

From the battle reports I see, this is maybe 2000 points or so?

Yeah, don't have the most current book (or any for that matter!) but having played Eldar a fair bit, I'd eyeball that at around 2k.

The Guardians have been reorganized since then so you'd need to go find a bunch of Storm Guardian models if you wanted to use all of this. Without the Guardian special weapons, and pretending the distortion-gun platform is the larger Heavy Support choice version, you could fit that all into three CADs and about 3,000-3,500pts.

I'd have to concur with AnomanderRake here. With NO upgrades at all other than those listed, I calculated it at 3300 points.

That figure doesn't include Exarchs, Psychic levels, artifacts, or formation bonuses.

About 3500pts with useful upgrades, if you want to go nuts you could probably push it to 3800, maybe a bit more.

That'll teach me not to read the text and just look at the picture...

Actually looking at the list of stuff, it's definitely higher than I first thought.

Although, the fact it is still only around half speaks volumes.

I thought you said 2k as a joke

I put it at closer to 4k at an eyeball, but I was way off it seems.
