Okay so I've finally gotten around to the point where I am ready to put side sponsons on my two Venators, but I can't decide which is the most effective setup for them between the Lascannons or the Heavy Bolters.

The lascanons give more anti armor punch, but due to the main gun being ordinance they're snap firing more often than not.

The heavy Bolters are good for a bit of protection against infantry, but again, even for Imperial Fists they're snap firing and force the main gun to take pot shots at the same infantry.

So I'm at a toss up and would like some suggestions on how those who use em do so.

Yeah, I'd say go with a pintle multimelta in case of a weapon destroyed and that's about it.

I've always favored hunter-killer missiles for protection against weapon destroyed results; plus if it fails and your main gun goes, at least you get one more long ranged S8 shot
