I am really hoping they add different weapons to the Mark 4 that we haven't seen yet. Would be great to see:

Rotor Cannons

Auto Cannons

Volkite Weapons

Lascannons

My plan is to do an Imperial Fist army (although trust GW to tease Sisters of Battle; I hadn't anticipated the apocalypse) and those top two would be amazing if it happened. Plus I have loads of spare Mark 4 weapons anyway.

Starting Sons of Horus Legion

Starting Daughters of Khaine

2000pts Sisters of Silence

4000pts Fists Legion
Sylvaneth A forest
III Legion 5000pts
XIII Legion 9000pts
Hive Fleet Khadrim 5000pts
Kabal of the Torn Lotus .4000pts
Coalition of neo Sacea 5000pts

In an ideal world I would love volkite weapons and maybe lascannons.

I have a feeling though we'll probably get a rehash of the usual special weapons (flamer/melta/plas) plus maybe a new heavy weapons.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

They are probably going to keep it stock so people can use them in 40k.

so plasma, melta, flamer.

they will probably keep the special ones for forgeworld but i could be wrong.

would love some plastic volkites

Ugh, I hadn't thought about that. Definetly no rotor cannon or autocannon then. :(

Just have to hope they're serious about making the base range plastic.

There's no autocannons in 40k? I admit I haven't played Chaos since 3rd ed, but autocannon havocs were definitely a thing (and the old metal autocannon looked pretty kickass)

Chaos Space marines get Autocannons, but not Space Marines.

Well, it's iron armour, so close range weapons. Heavy Flamers, multimeltas and probably standard specials. Reckon they'll save Volkites for Mk II armour in plastic should they ever get made.

Though, it is possible they'll "do a cataphract terminator" and put out 40k rules for auto cannons and even Volkites...

Personally I'm most hoping that they'll follow FW's lead and give them Phobos pattern bolters, so that whatever specials they come with I'll have plenty left over for a Carcharadon force.

They might try to do grav-guns, 40k/30k may have different rules for them but a pattern that can be used for either could be useful.

Problem with Graviton Guns is that there's only two main ways to get them: 1: Play Iron Hands, run their rite of war and be able to trade in flamers for Graviton Guns or 2: Run breacher squads where 1 in every 5 troopers can take a special which can include Graviton Guns.

Ok, just saw the sprues in the Prospero rumor thread - looks like for the power armored marines there's just plasma and melta weapons. Only heavy weapon is a heavy bolter, but I don't think all the sprues were shown in detail

For termies the heavy weapon is the autocannon (meh) and at least 1 volkite charger (probably just 1 for the sergeant).

On the terminator sprue it looked like it had the front cowling for a flamer weapon of some sort. There may be more on the sprue.

But overall they are very option light. Bit disappointing. The cynic in me is saying that they did this intentionally to drive sales of the FW upgrade kits. The modeler is saying I’ve got plenty of spares in the bits box...

you're right, I didn't notice until I looked again. The heavy flamer seems to come in like 4 parts (arm w/1 side, opposite side, cowling in 2 pieces) so it's hard to spot.

At the very least it wouldn't be hard to get some flamers from the Sisters of Silence sprues since they look to be the same HH era flamers and there's plenty per sprue.

I think the lack of special weapons would also make these ideal fro breachers (maybe if they made a separate sprue with the shield and replacement left arm), which might be something they're planning for the box sets.

If I pick up this box (quite likely) my plans are to get 3rd party bits to make 15-20 of them into breachers. And 5-10 into destroyers.

Mk. III makes a good base for units that want to get in and smash face.

Still looking around for good shields.

Also of note is that where BaC had sheathed combat knives for all, BoP has short length Chainswords, which look like they'd easily fit on a backpack/belt but would also come in handy for anyone wanting to convert Despoilers, all you'd need to source is some Bolt Pistols (and who doesn't have dozens of those?)

The Emperor's Armpit (aka. Arizona)

In the recent video that GW released, it showed a crisp shot of a tartaros pattern terminator sergeant holding a volkite weapon. As with Calth, GW will probably separately box each unit. However, some bitz sellers on EBay are selling the units for preorder-but expect to pay ~$20+ for a unit/hero in the States.

Weapons wise, expect all the weapons that were included in the Calth box. GW might have taken the ML off the sprue but Lady Atia has confirmed the Heavy Bolter will be in each tactical squad.

In looking at the sprues, it looks like the Terminators get a Reaper Autocannon, Heavy Flamer, Volkite Charger, combi-Plasma, P-fists, Lightning Claws. I didn't see another sprue of Termy Armors, heads, etc. so I presume that one will have the combi-bolters on it.

The MK III armor models have Phobius pattern bolters (nice!), one Heavy Bolter, plasma pistol, plasma rifle, and flamer. I'm OK with no Meltagun, as Armored Ceremite is stupid common on all vehicles, and cheap enough for all vehicles to take.

The Sisters of Silence sprue has some interesting options on it- bolters and flamers.
