I've got a Celestine the Living Saint model that I'm planning to use as a female Knight Azyros. So, painted in the manner of a Stormcast Eternal. So, blue cloak and robes, bronze armour and so on.
Ideally, I'd like to represent the Knight's lantern in some way. There's no an obvious conversion I can do to achieve this: she needs to keep her sword and her bird hand is sculpted too close in to the body to change it. Besides, I like the way the bird helps represent the scouting aspect of the Knight. There's nowhere on her model to obviously hang any kind of lamp or lantern either.
I figured one approach might be to paint the halo as a light source. But I'm not entirely clear how best to go about this. It's sculpted to look like a thing of metal, with rivets and all. And I'm only a very average painter: looking at tutorials for painting light effects scared me off trying, to be honest. At least without a step by step guide as to where and how to paint the bright spots.
Are there any other ideas or approaches I could try, suitable for someone of my lowly skill levels?
