Didn't see a thread on this game yet so thought I'd start one What's been your experience with the game? I'm pretty pumped for Ariandel, and just started my second character after finishing my Faith build. (will probably be Ricards pure melee build)

Pretty close to mine too. However, mine would be closer to
Dark Souls
Dark Souls 3
Dark Souls 2
Bloodborne
A lot of people crap on DS2 because it was just "dudes in armour" but I prefer that to the beasties of Bloodborne. Plus, I'm more a fan of slower gameplay, (like DS1 speed) which BB definitely isn't, lol.

Eh, touche. I know it's not for everyone, but I loved BB BECAUSE it was nuts. I always played a big tank with a shield and weapon in DS, so having a game that made me do the exact opposite was refreshing (they even had a joke "shield" you could use that was awful).
My big problem with DS2 is it felt "soulless" compared to DS1 and 3, like a lot of the theming and creativity wasn't there. I liked some of the environments, but DS1 stand out to me more. DS3 is worse than 1 to me in terms of theme and creativity, but feth, the amount of options compared to 2 is huge, plus some of the bosses are pretty darn cool, better than 2.
What about demonssouls? It's my favourite though tbh that largely comes from it being the first one I played. When dark souls came around I thought it more of the same in a diffrent setting.
Other then that Deamonssouls takes the cake for me because of the Tower and the swamp locations. Those where just amazing. Then the final boss fight in the swamp is just still unmatched, even with all 5 games methinks. Never quite got so emotionally invested in a souls game as in that moment.
Had I played darksouls first though the situation would probably be reverse.
EDIT: Also, Deamonssouls is easier but screws you over harder. Dying messes up the world, making encounters eventually unavailable. There's a boss that permanently de-levels you with a special attack (feth that guy) and a guy that murders all your shopkeepers (double feth that guy).

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.
For me, Dark Souls 2 was the best of the series, but I never played Bloodborne (I don't own the console, so it might as well not exist to me). Dark Souls 3 was a close second, then Dark Souls 1 closely after that. Mostly, Dark Souls 3 would be better if it had more varied settings...

Loving it. Recently finished an NG+7 run through DS3. I can't rank the series because I love them all pretty much equally. The run I did on my NG+7 was a pretty beefy strength run, and I managed to smash a gank near Anor Londo which I am fairly proud of.
Speaking of DkS3, anyone excited about the upcoming DLC?

ShieldBrother wrote: I have it downloaded (season pass) but haven't been able to play it yet. From the trailers it looks pretty good. Love the deserted icy planes feel.
Having gotten through about 1/2-2/3 of it so far...it's a nice addition. Very isolated feeling, and at least the first boss fight is quite fantastic.
If anyone wants to co-op on PS4, I'd be down to throw down.
