Hey all.
Just got back into 40K after 7 or so years and decided to start off with a Nurgle theme Chaos Marine Army. Fluff-wise, the idea is that this group broke off from the Death Guard at some point. As a result I'm using mostly Heresy Era Space Marine models, suitably modified. So far I've converted 3 Terminators, painted a test Plague Marine, and started to put together a test model for my Chaos Bike counts-as. I'll be using converted Thunder Wolf Cavalry (Plague Wolves) as my bikes.
Any feedback or comments would be much appreciated.
Terminator 1, almost finished, not based yet obviously.
Terminator 2 (Possibly my Lord)
Terminator 3 with heavy flamer

That is some pretty solid work for a 7 year absence, lovelynightshade. Your first terminator's plague foot is so subtle that I nearly missed it, and the plague wolf is a very cool idea. I'm definitely looking forward to some more!

Then suddenly I saw it. With only a slight churning to mark its rise to the surface, the thing slid into view above the dark waters. Vast, Polyphemus-like, and loathsome, it darted like a stupendous monster of nightmares to the monolith, about which it flung its gigantic scaly arms, the while it bowed its hideous head and gave vent to certain measured sounds. I think I went mad then.

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with how things are going so far. I'm thinking about getting a box of Plague Bearers to get some conversion bits for my Plague Marines. Primarily for some arm and leg swaps. I'm loving the conversion potential of all the different Nurgle kits (both AOS and 40K)

Loving the terminators especially. They look like they'll be fantastic once completed. keep up the good work.
The plague marine, IMO, could use some more work to look more plagued

Yeah that's a good call. I'm thinking of buying a box a Plague Bearers for some conversion bits. I built the marine when I was thinking of having very light Nurgle influences on the army. I have since discovered how fun it is to convert and paint all kinds of Nurgle goodness (the Terminators in particular)
I'll have some more finished and based pics in the next couple of days.
Edit -
Plague Bearers ordered!

Looking great so far!
Terminator 2 is my favorite, very cool.
I have to admit the wolf made me laugh, because of the claw-ish things coming out of his behind!? Or maybe it's just my perverted mind, influenced by that classic South Park episode where Cartman got probed by aliens and huge alien radar discs shot out of his *bleep* every now and then.....

Haha yeah the claws/spikes are instead of a tail. But it does look kinda comical from certain angles.

I really dig the terminators. Not loving the shade of green, but that's always personal preference. Can't wait to see them all finished up!

Yeah the green I think is pretty subjective. The Terminators have been super fun to build. The Blight Kings kit is almost tailor made for Nurgle Terminator conversions. So many good bits. I'm hoping the Plague Bearers kit will be much the same for my Plague Marines.

Thanks IGtR=
Decided to snap an in-progress pic of Terminator #4. Pretty happy with how he's turning out.
Static grass and some other basing materials come in tomorrow so I should have some based pics to show off tomorrow evening.

Thanks! It's cool to see the project coming together. I spent a few months trying to lock down an army decision. Super happy I chose Nurgle. It's just too fun converting everything.

It was mentioned earlier in the thread that my test Plague Marine was very Marine, not so much Plague. With that in mind I bought a box of Plague Bearers for conversion bits.
The goal was to make it look like the demon head is bursting out of the helmet a bit. Pretty happy with how it's going.

Looking good! As an old Nurgle CSM player and converter, these things warm my heart
Should you want to go the 3rd party manufacturer way regarding your army, I can recommend Spellcrow.

Although based in Poland, they have a few resellers in the US.The quality of their stuff is excellent.
Looking forward to more Nurgle goodness, keep it up!

Yeah I've heard of Spellcrow before, tons of good conversion stuff. I'm sticking strictly with GW/Forgeworld stuff for this project but thanks for the heads up. I'll have some more progress pics up tomorrow.
