So i was looking for inspiration on how to paint my malanthrope when i stumbled upon this very cool way of painting the sacks under the carapace, so that they look rotten/poisonous.

Can anyone help me figure out how I would go about painting that? Color/method wise.

That model is chock full of detail so some simple washes and glazes will get the effect that you're looking for.

Your example looks to be a light Bleached Bone type colour when washes of a reddish brown. Pretty simple really.
Try mixing your paints with water and a touch of hand soap just to make it flow correctly.
Use some gloss and/or satin varnish for a nice slime effect.

That one looks better than the link in the OP. Some washes and some highlights (maybe use glossy finish over it all).

Yeah, the Malanthrope is a beautiful model. Paint it a good base color and use washes to give it that look. There are so many recesses it's really easy to achieve. I painted mine a more matte flesh color to match the rest of the flesh bits in my army, and less rotten sac-looking.

It looks like the linked image might also have a bit of gloss varnish in the sacks, to help with that slimy wet look.

Thank you for your answers!
I have played around with some colors to get that red->brown-orange->screaming skull transition but it seems pretty hard to do with only washes and no highligts.
The best i could get was basing with brown-yellowish color and then higlighting with more yellow colors then washing with red and highlighting with screaming skull, but I'm still afraid that it's not gonna end up looking good on the mini.
If i cant get it to work i might just play it safe and also just use my normal fleshy-bits-scheme for the sacs...
